Ruiz hadn't beat a ranked fighter since 2004

    Exactly.
And Ruiz had fought once in the previous 20 months, against Adnan Serin, a nobody. 38 years old and washed-up.
Valuev was coming off an 11 month layoff after a ridiculously bad performance against 46 year old Holyfield. He'd been badly discredited too many times.
These guys - and Chisora - are Haye's best scalps.

It makes Gerry Cooney's resume look good in comparison.

The fighter on the list who would pose the greatest threat to him would be Tommy Farr. This is a guy who would be able to take what Haye could dish out, would take him into the later rounds, would make him work more than he wanted to.

I would suggest that this fight would answer a lot of questions about how good Haye realy is.

I would also be interested to see how he could deal with a motivated Bugner. This would be a very bad fight for Haye.

Even with somebody like Bruno or Hide, there is more than one way that you could see the fight unfolding.

Joe Louis was one of the quickest heavyweights of all-time. Only Ali, Patterson, maybe Tyson, were quicker.

"see his talent" against who ?
He's been matched with washed-up mummies and mediocre fighters.
Guys who weren't even considered good when he fought them.

Farr fought fighters who were more devastating than Haye.

    Bugner was better than Haye.
Bugner went 12 hard rounds with Frazier. Bugner went 12 hard rounds with ron Lyle. Bugner fought Ali twice.

Bugner was coming off a long layoff when he faced Shavers.
Shavers was a much more aggressive fighter than Haye.

If that's true, that's more reason to rank them in the correct order.

Well I can see footage of both and I conclude haye is quicker.

Gurov, Fragomeni, Jmm, Enzo, Valuev where all highly ranked opponents when he stopped them. Barret, Ruiz and Chisora where all not long from being ranked when he beat them.

I don't care who Farr lost to. Nor who Bugner lost to. I'm saying i'd favour Haye over either of them. Hence I agree with his ranking.

There's no right or wrong in any boxing ranking list.
But surely they should at least respresent the achievements and/or demonstrated abilities of the fighters.
It's just insulting to have Haye ranked over some of those guys.

You probably saw Yohan Blake win the 100 metres the other night.

    They were lousy opposition.

Perhaps you'd rather be ignorant of the facts.
Bugner, Farr, Bruno beat better fighters than Haye beat - and looked more impressive doing so too.

    Fair enough. :good
I think the ranking is shitty and insulting. But I believe the magazine has a vested interest (financial) in boosting David Haye. I have no idea why people on a forum like this would do so, unless they have been indoctrinated.

Bruno above Haye for sure. In terms of H2H I'd have Haye much lower, in terms of ring record at the weight and H2H still in the 7-10 bracket.

Gurov by the way had an abysmal chin and had previously been sparked in the 1st in exactly the same fashion. I don't care that he was european champ' he was god awful IMO.

Haye's punching power is overrated IMO. If not that, he's an abysmal Valero-esque finisher at least.

Bugner was so tough even way past his prime his shoulder aided Bonecrusher to dislocate his. Bugner's body caused and forced that stoppage. Better win than Haye has :hey
