Whilst Muhammad Ali seems to be the only fighter who gets criticised for geting lucky decisions towards the end of his career,Dempsey takes the most slack for enforcing the 'colour line'. He would have lost to Larry Gains, a fighter who lost to the likes of Jack Peterson, Len Harvey, Don McCorkindale, Walter Neusel, Chuck Wiggins, Bill Hartwell, Martin Burke, numerous other little known fighters and also suffered a six-round TKO against Godfrey in 1926?
