If the scoring in the last round was poor then the scoring in the first was even worse, either way Evans scored more points, and the right man went through.

There have been some shocking decisions granted, this was not one of them - it was close - the scores reflected this!

It has been bad in some bouts but id say only one yank has suffered and the Evans fight was scored pretty fairly at a draw i thought, two good young fighters. But yeah, it aint been great unfortunatly.

No single person invented the internet. The americans had as much to do with the development of the internet as the brits. It was also an American, not a Brit who came up with the idea that developed into the Internet.

Indeed one of them being Al Gore. Like remember that Obama speech he was saying if you have a business on the internet the government gave that to you.

Why was the appeal rejected? There was a legitimate basis for it with the warnings, correct?

To review, Clayton and Evans fought to a 14-14 draw on Tuesday afternoon, with Canada's last remaining boxer winning the final two rounds. Evans was warned at least three times for putting a forearm around the back of Clayton's head, which typically results in a deduction. Yet the Welshman wasn't docked points — and won on a countback.
Incorrectly cautioned three times? Don't you think a world-class referee, if that was the case, would have realized not to warn Evans again? Not to be too snarky, but there's a perfectly good reason with Clayton might have been coming in low: at 5-foot-9, he's two inches shorter than Evans. And talk about inconsistency in officiating; this is the same sport where another referee was banished for only giving one caution to a boxing later determined to have committed nine holding fouls.

Al Gore invented the internet, and he's as American as apple pie and baseball.

    Good question.

I'm Canadian, but even taking nationalist bias into consideration, it's clear that Evans should have been deducted two points once he received a third caution for the same foul.

The question then becomes, did Evans do enough in the first two rounds to secure an insurmountable lead. In my opinion, the answer is no. He won the first big, and held an edge in the first part of the second round. But Clayton clearly won the last half of the second, and landed the right consistently during that time. And he won the third round very, very clearly. It may have been even in terms of clean landed punches, but it tips to Clayton once those two points are deducted and that's why there should be some quesion about the decision, imo. :deal
