There HAVE been some horrendous decisions this tournament. No doubt. Evans was not even close to being one of them! He outpointed the canadian imo.

 

Evans had a huge round in the first and looked like he might stop Clayton.

Custio then rallied hard over the next two, enough to tilt the scales back his way in the opinion of most on here. (not just butthurt Canadians or Americans :yep)

 

imo the gap going into the final round should not have been 2. It should have been wider. I thought round 2 was pretty even, with the canadian maybe winning it by 1. 6-3 was very very harsh for round 2!

Round 3 was harsh as well . Thought the canadian won that round by 3 or 4 points. Putting all that together, Evans by 1 or by countback was the right result imo. Nice competitive fight. But the right man won. Scoring throughout was BS though. Round 2 it was too harsh on Evans, Round 3 was too harsh on Clayton. But for anyone to say it was a robbery? I am not buying that. At all. ESPECIALLY when you consider some of the decisions we've had in this tournament

Evans certainly had the edge in the first. I'm not sure if Clayton was really hurt at any point, but he seemed lost through most of the round, and completely unable to deal with Fred's speed and combination punching (which is damned impressive)

Evans looked like he might expand his lead in the second, but then Clayton made some adjustments and began to land the right pretty consistently by the end as Evans started to fade.

And the third round was all Clayton, but at least double the margin that he was given the round.

I think the even score is a good reflection of the type of fight they had...But there's a pretty strong case to be made for Clayton to be given the edge on the countback.

Either way, these guys fought to a stand-still in the unpaid ranks...I think a pro fight down the road would be just as good.

 

I thought Evans Won the first by 5.
Round 2 was Even.
Clayton Won the 3rd by 4.

Close fight. Would like to see them get it on in the pros. Styles match pretty well

 

Clayton had problems with his southpaw stance more than his speed. He made the adjustment in the third round and clearly won that round but still behind in points. In the third he dominated more than evens did in the first and should have won by a couple of points IMO. That being said a draw is reasonable but like you said he should have won it on a count back and they should have also recognized the rules and awarded a penalty for repeating the same infraction three times.

round 1: 7-2 was fair (Clayton had trouble with the southpaw stance)
round 2: 3-6 was about right (Clayton's round by far, started to time Evans was timing him with the right hand)
round 3: 2-7 should have been the real score (Evans did not let his hands go because could not handle the power of Clayton, Clayton could not miss with that right hand he landed at least 10 clean rights in that round)
