Becuase we aren't talking about Oscar. You can't just try to look at another fight and use that. ALL fights are different, with different reasons for all. And Oscar came down from 154 BTW. BOTH guys gave up a lot to make the fight, again, and I can't believe it needs repeating, due to the size difference.

Pac fans see nothing wrong with a guy getting phony belts at catch weights..

Rational Boxing fans know this is suspect..

Yeah, he fought for a belt that no one gives a **** about. Why do you give a **** about it? PAc will NOT be rememberd for anything above 147, including the 150 belt, just as no on e gives two shits about SRL's SprMW/LtHW belt. Get this into your head, ALL fighters look fir an advantage, Pac is not the first. You just make a big deal for whatever reason you want...

i did say pac beat cotto at his prime division. he fought him at WW.

i can agree with that but i see pac winning over cotto (the fighter) more valuable than him getting the alphabet belt. at this level, fighters make the belts and not the other way around.

It just proves the hypocritical argument Pac fans make. When he goes up against a good fighter like Cotto it's "he's so little, the champ needs to come down" but when he fights a plodder like Margarito 150 pounds is suddenly fine..

Pac's win against Cotto will always have a mental asterisk next to it. Had he manned up and gone to 147 it probably wouldn't have made a difference in the fight but it would have gone a long way with the fans.

Asterisk is right.... Wasn't there also a hydration clause where he could not go over a certain weight, after the weigh in?

We're talking about Pac being too little...according to you....to fight Cotto at 147...but he wasn't too small to fight Oscar at the same weight...

    That **** doesn't make sense....

did you realize that the cotto and margarito fight is 2 years apart? one is when pac just fought at JWW and one was when pac was already settled at WW?

Many fighters have gone from 140 to 147, Zab Judah for instance. Yet in my 36 years on this Earth I can only remember one who demanded a title fight for less than the 147 pound division limit.

People make a lot of remarks about Judah, but when he moved up he did it like a man. He didn't ask champions to fight at catchweights because he was moving up from 140.

Pac weighed 148 with De La Hoya but couldn't weight 147 with Cotto and fight him at his weight? This is a prime example that he is not too small,'Pac being the small guy" has been greatly exaggerated..

"I will not fight below 150 pounds. Mayweather Jr. said he has no problem going up to 154 to fight me. Pacquiao is the one who objected and wants me to once again come down to a weight between 145 and 147 pounds. If Pacquiao had no trouble going up to 150 to fight Margarito, why is there a set requirement for me to go down again? Does he fear me? If Pacquiao wants to fight me again, it must be above 150 pounds. I will not
