its a tough one with johnson, he had some success in weak 160 and 175 divisions but he was clearly out of his depth when he fought in a much tougher 168 division.

the best thing about johnson is that he exposed so many american hype jobs who the american public were brainwashed into thinking were great fighters like jones, dawson, tarver and griffin, so for this reason purely, i would include him.

IMO, no...He just didnt do quite enough to get in...A solid fighter but falls short of getting into the hall of fame.

    Guys please ignore this guy.
He's well aware of the fact that Roy Jones jr is the best fighter that ever lived and he's also well aware of the fact that Glen Johnson never beat Tarver (I know he got the decision but he didn't actually win)
If you try to argue these points with him you're part of the problem.

    Thanks for your cooperation

Take away the knockout of a shot Jones and a questionable decision against Tarver, there isn't much on Johnson's record which is HOF worthy.

Even if you subscribe to the view that he deserved to win some of his losses, you still have a fighter struggling to beat the likes of Vanderpool, Sheika, Judah and Kiwanuka. He was also dominated by the one legitmately great fighter he faced in his prime (Hopkins).

The closest inductee to Johnson would probably be Zivic, who lost more often than not against the best fighters he faced and (even by the standards of the time) had a poor record in terms of numbers. The difference is that Zivic beat a near-prime Armstrong twice, and his tough losses were to Sugar Ray Robinson and Charley Burley, not Sven Ottke and Silvio Branco.

I'm a big fan of Johnson's, but he doesn't belong in the HOF.
