Just wondering what the deal is with Broner and his constant ass licking of Mayweather Jr. What is the history between these two, i know he models his style on him etc. But do they actually get on, have they met, what mayweather thinks of him? Someone fill me in please
i'd like to know too but there's nothing wrong with trying to be like a model of a great boxer. Everybody when they start of they always think "i want to be like him" so they practice and the lucky few are acually successful with it because its just there natural fit. Broner in a way is similar to floyd but has his own style in it, the way he copies mayweather on how he talks is a bit creepy but his talking brush is original.
i think may is creeped out by him. Sure kobe is similar to mj, but kobe didn't try to have the same exact identity as mj.
I don't think he actually ever met Floyd until a few months ago. Floyd listed off some good young fighters in one video like Ward, Dirrell brothers, Peterson brothers and Broner's name was mentioned also. This content is protected
oh and Broner talked at Floyd's post fight conference [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Syns6VdfMZE[/ame] edit: Then Floyd mentions Gamboa/Broner [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTOnaPGRl6w[/ame]
Yeah absolutley, nothing wrong at all with modelling your style on it. What a great style to model yourself on to. 'the bruuuuuusssssh' thing is funny sometimes, just can see it getting annoying if he keeps going on about it. Would love to see an interview with mayweather on what his thoughts are of his 'little brother'
I like Broner, but the whole adoption of Floyd's persona is just sad. In he ring, it limits his offensive opportunities; he's a young man fighting like an older, more defensive Floyd, and like Mayweather Sr. says, he's not quite getting it right. He's real talented and clearly has a future, but stop trying to only feint with your hands down for a pull-counter and paw the jab to set up a counter hook just like Floyd when you could do other things. Out of the ring, it's borderline creepy. The verbal pauses and facial ticks are all typical 24/7 Money May. "You know.." "I give credit where credit is due..." "aint takin nothin away from em..." For ****'s sake he even emulates his bag work.
Your bang on there, just watched him getting interviewed while on the heavy bag ala mayweather doing his pitty patty shots I would like to see him move alot more, like the young mayweather used to.
