Yes. Not for his resume or skills, but for what he brought to the sport, and what he gave to the fans.
no but he will get in, i'll bet anything on it. he will definitely make it, so will hatton. both guys undeserving with reagrds to their skills/resume but they were exciting with big followings and hella famous and it is the hall of fame after all.....
I voted no. I liked Gatti alot. He sure as hell was exciting to watch. But when you talk about the H.O.F its supposed to be about great fighters, which sorry to say Gatti wasn't. He was spanked by the elites. He even lost twice to a guy (Ivan Robinson) who most people dont even know. He will be remembered more for his thrilling trilogy against a b level fighter in Ward. Thats not hall material.
Why the **** can't people differentiate between the HOF and ATG? The Hall Of Fame is not just based on the criteria of being a great boxer, with a great resume, who conquered multiple weight classes (although that helps). The previous statement pushes you towards the ATG list. To be considered for the Hall Of Fame, you will need to influence the sport, you will need to be entertaining, you will need to progress the sport, you will need to bring fans to the sport, along with having a very solid resume (most of the time). But like I have said, the number one factor is NOT that you're a great fighter. People argue that Hamed shouldn't be inducted in to the Hall Of Fame because he is not considered an ATG. The latter is true, but the guy changed the sport in his own right, made his shows an event rather than just a boxing match. Had some of the greatest ring entrances ever, could trash talk, explosive power/entertaining bouts, brought fans to the sport (me included), etc, etc.
AnthonyW you are clearly a huge fan of Gatti so you vote with your heart. Its understandable. But Gatti is not hall worthy. I vote no.
No, no not at all. Are you a ****ing idiot? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOvjnhIb-3E[/ame]Lampley, at the end of fight 3 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksNrpDRb9uY&playnext=1&list=PL1D88F6B5430F15A5&feature=results_video[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2tPAhdsY34[/ame]
Yea cause Hall of famers get beaten by the likes of Ivan Robinson, Mickey Ward, Carlos Baldimor and Alfonzo Gomezatsch
Yes HOF is all about great fighters, that is why Rocky Balboa is in it atsch Gatti deserves to be in the HOF, he gave us one of the best fights ever in boxing.
