I don't see what he can quite do that would be bad for the fighter. Of course he'll say some ignorant comments but who doesn't? Really, he is. He certainly doesn't talk like it, but I've met him and talked to him. He's not smart as a lot of people, but intelligent enough. Some talk as if he needs help putting on his damn socks in the morning, man.
Talking about ignorance and then writing them last 2 sentences? atsch. So you honestly think the failings he's making when managing his own career (which let's face should be his main priority over any fighters he may sign) shouldn't be considered by any fighters he tries to sign? They'd be mad to sign for him based off what we 've already seen, which is that his own career is declining rapidly because of the decisions he's made. Khan was a promoter's dream when he turned pro and look at him now. And you can't deny that since leaving ****** and taking more control of his own destiny, things have declined rather than improved. But you go ahead and convince yourself this will be a roaring success abd ignore logic. Thats why people think you're just a nuthugger when it comes to Khan.
What 'failings', exactly? His own losses? As far as I know, that's solely down to his skill set. You're telling me his failure in the ring would transition to another fighter? atsch Besides that, what failings? The decision to go to Golden Boy was genius. A company that gave him great exposure, paid him more than the other fighters and got him his own HBO deal, which no other fighter besides Canelo had. Tell me what these failings are. Nut hugger I can't believe I still get called that. Maybe you should consider reading into my posts and see how much of a 'nut hugger' I am.
Don't be stupid, of couse i'm not insinuating he'd pass on his limitations as a fighter. I'm talking about his decision to leave Harrison for Rubio, not moving away from Roach sooner when realising that playing second fiddle to Pacquiao was having a detrimental effect on his preparation, him stupidly agreeing to take on Peterson in his home town atsch. Not to mention him agreeing taking on a champion in Garcia on short notice when there was always a strong possibility it could lead him to overtrain. All of these things are details a young fighter will look to Amir for help with by signing with an ex fighter. And the fact he doesn't seem to learn from his own mistakes doesn't exactly bode well for a promotional career. Not nearly clever, ruthless or street wise to survive in that business.
The only fighter that's had a successful promotional company is Oscar and even then he doesn't do much and he's pretty dim himself (just look at his twitter and the **** he comes out with in interviews). But at least he has Schaefer running things for him. Knowing Khan he'll have Saj doing a lot of the work and that's not going to end well What's with every fighter wanting to branch out into promoting these days? A lot have a promotional company that's pretty much used as a tax dodge but there's a few that are starting to take it seriously. Even Canelo who's 21 has got 'Canelo Promotions' who put on shows in Mexico :nut
How does that transition onto him promoting a fighter? Seriously, that's laughable. You're calling me a nut hugger but your ineptitude is leading to you only seeing one side of the book. You're talking as if everything can be done perfectly. NO one is ever guided perfectly, ever. The world is full of imperfection. I'd like to see you personally take on a role of managing a fighter since it's so easy looking from the outside in for you. You can't tell a guy he can't do a degree just because he didn't do as well in his a-levels. People stride in different things. Amir would do wonders for a kid in terms of awareness. If you believe it's a disaster, then so be it. We shall just see, eh?
It's about control over your own career. I read a post not too long ago that told the advantages it holds but yeah, it's good because having more control means if a fighter wishes to pursue a fight on his own banner, he can. Like the McCloskey fight was done by Khan Promotions, not Golden Boy.
right so khan is high profile .ill give you that ,it dosnet mean that any fighter will be guided rightly?I mean fraudley is high profile, dosent mean he would be quiding a fighter in his career :rofl. As for khan being a success cos he has loads of sponsers , well true but what about all the arseholes like saj and that wee poisen dwarf who interupts interviews etc if you were a fighter, would you want that bunch of hangers on hanging around you ? I know i wouldent
Khan isn't going to be signing anyone from the GB setup, none of them speak to him.... with good reason too. Would you speak to someone who basically accused either you or a colleague of yours of being where they were just because they were white (even though Yafai is of Arabic origin - further proving their ******edness ) and that Haroon should be in just because he's Amir's baby brother? Would you balls. McCracken is probably the best trainer in the country and had to put up with weeks of shot from those silly ****s, which no doubt affected the lads who were in camp at the time. Khan is limited in terms of who he's likely to be able to sign. That's before you critique his business acumen and overall ability to deal with people, which seems to be 0 unless you get down on your knees and start sucking.
I read some wise words the other day, 'Khan needs to stop copying Floyd outside the ring, he needs to copy Floyd inside the ring' Is this another copy move off TMT Promotions..
