    For example, Miguel Cotto.

Before Manny Pacquiao fought Miguel Cotto @ 145.

    * Cotto damaged goods after Margarito brutalised Cotto.
    * Got a lucky decision over Joshua Clottey.

After Floyd Mayweather fought Miguel Cotto @ 154.

    *
Stronger & Better movements around the ring.
    * New & Better Trainer.
    *
    More confidence.
    * Mayweather jr: ''I fought Cotto in his natural weight unlike Pacquiao''

Can a fighter be UNSHOT or become UNDAMAGED GOODS by moving up in weight?

    Thoughts?

No, and losing one pound from your previous weigh in doesn't make you weight drained, either. He had been at welterweight 3 years a that time and was forced to come down one pound from his previous weigh in weight. He weighed in at 138 in fights in 2006, three years previously.

Chad Dawson has been at light heavyweight since 2006, almost 7 years. Why is ward getting any credit for that fight? That might be weight draining. What Leonard did to Lalonde is real weight draining, a light heavyweight title at 168.

Cotto is not better than he was in 2009. Pac IS much worse than he was in 2009 because he has aged. That's it.

You just listed several variables, only one of them being weight. Cotto is a bit shopworn, that is sure. But having a competent trainer and fighting at a better weight for his body have helped rejuvenate him to a degree.

It's funny that Pac thought getting Cotto down to 145 was important, but his fans don't.

Everyone somehow magically becomes better after they fightFloyd, or just the delusion of his fans to brainwash themselves into believing so. Just like how they deluded themselves into believing that mental midget Ortiz was going to run over everyone except for Floyd.

According to every *****, Cotto was shot before the fight was made. FACT. After the fight, Cotto became a beast.

The reality is that Cotto was never shot and he's no better now than he was when Pac kicked his butt. People are just playing up Floyd's victory, even though he struggled while Pac toyed with Cotto.

I disagree with that. Cotto's mental state seems so much better now and physically and technically, he 's a different fighter. He's better now than the fighter who faced Clottey and Pacquiao

for the record....i wasn't sure cotto was shot after the margarito and pac fights. he lost those fights but didn't take a career ending beating like margarito took against mosley. cotto took a knee against margarito and was still there mentally. against pac...he was giving pac lateral movement and taking very little punishment in the remaining rounds. it's clear that his move up in weight definitely helped him.

    it's all very simple.

dehydrated fighters do not take punches very well.

totally hydrated fighters take punches better.

    it's not rocket science.

also....cotto is in better hands with his new trainer. evangelista was ok...but that guy joe whatever his name was...was horrible. cotto was making plenty of mistakes and there was no one there to correct them.

the cotto that margarito cheated against was solid...but the current cotto is better. the cotto that pac beat was thoroughly diminished at the time they fought. the new cotto is replenished and retooled and will beat pac at this point.

Is this some poor attempt to salvage a Cotto(e) rematch and justify it?

Neither Floyd or emmanroid should be rematching Miguel, especially emmanuel who brutally dominated him.

for the record, i knew cotto was going to give floyd the toughest fight of his career just like i know he will beat pac if they fought at 150 or above.

the fact that u can't see that cotto has improved since those losses shows me how little u know and understand about boxing. post less and read more. u might learn something.

The fact that you can't see certain styles and different stances can make a fighter look worse shows you how little you know and understand about boxing. Cotto saw everything that Floyd threw. He couldn't see Pac's punches coming.

Post less and read more. You might learn something.

No. Cotto was never "shot" or "damaged goods", ever. You want shot or damaged goods? See Jones now, or David Reid after the Trinidad fight.

Noob arguments by noob boxing fans.
