They didnt play all that well in the group stages at all They drew with Argentina & were up 3-1 against the poms & ended up 3-3, they had some good wins but they were hot & cold, that last win against p@kistan i thought theyd turned the corner
considering the huge numbers of men that play RL, AFL, soccer, union etc, in a small country. to be worlds best constantly is pretty good. just cause rthey cant make it happen every 4 years doesnt mean ****.
Theyve been number one in the world for the last four years. They have every major trophy right now apart from the Olympics.
I think the biggest choker in our team is Magnussen, he talked him self up and pissed his pants when the time came to do it.
It was a complacent Aussies in London. The Opals had the mentality that a close loss to the USA in the Womens basketball is good enough - and thats a mentality they need to change. A loss is a failure, plain and simple, the game was there to win. Our swimmers were complacent, one only had to have a glance at Lumbering Liesell Jones before the Olympics! Sally Pearson runs the right mentality, she sets the bar and believes that its her medal to lose - whereas others Aussies. are just happy to turn up for whatever reason.
Weren't Germany favorites for the gold? On another note, I think a previous poster on these boards (MSTR) used to play Jnr Hockey at national level. just saying.
What about Darcy? Karma took a few years to catch up with him but it finally did. Absolute grub, doing what he did, never apologising for it and then crying bankruptcy to get out of paying compensation for it.
