If I'm not mistaken pro boxing is decent in terms of tv numbers and revenue in the US, Germany and some latin american countries?

You must remember that even top level P4P boxers (male) in certain weight categories are undercard for the most part as there simply isnt much interest.

Arce is a good example , most of his top fights are usually on undercards.

Last Lila Ali fight I remember was on the undercard of tyson mc Bride

Womens fights in germany - same deal

Also in pro boxing because there is so few competitors , there can be huge weight differences and wide open categories.
Apart from Katie there is no one else anyone really knows of or would be interested in.

Lets get real people dont care for womens boxing, Katie has had the best moment she can live through this.

Didnt she box on pro shows as a amateur anyway before ? Another Olympics is the best bet if she is to continue, the womens pro route sux in my humble opinion

I'd also prefer if she didn't go pro either to be honest.

Best of luck to the Conlon, Barnes and Nevin in the semis tomorrow, hopefully we will have more to look forward to this time tomorrow

Sure, I'd say a fight between herself and me mam would be an even money affair.

no pal thats not how it works. in countries where female boxing is appriciated its big buissiness. just look at marianna juarez in mexico, ogleidis suarez in venezuela and regina halmich susi kentiken in germany. when these girls fight its a big deal sold out arena's big tv network coverage the whole works.

i garuntee you regina hallmich is just as popular in germany as felix sturm or arthur abraham. and katie taylor would have just as much success here as halmich does there cause lets face it sporting wise we've got **** all to cheer about which is ridiculous when you consider how sporting mad we are

I like how the writer of this article highlights the likes of Keith duffy and Barack Obama's 8th cousin as people who have congratulated Katie. Totally neglecting the congratulations she received from lennox Lewis, Oscar De La Hoya, Wayne McCullough, The President, Amir Khan, and Evander Holyfield!!
