seriously, floyd is not even close to what jordan accomplished in basketball. jordan is arguably the goat. floyd is nowhere near the goat in boxing. he is not even the greatest of his generation based on accomplishments. furthermore, jordan is charismatic, floyd is... nevermind.

Kobe Bryant isn't even in the conversation with MJ. MJ is the GOAT without debate. Kobe will end up in the Top 10 most likely, but never in the Top 5.

Kobe has TWO championships on his own, he would only have two if Shaq hadn't won those first three. Kobe has ONE freaking MVP award. ONE. In an era of Steve Nash winning two MVP awards, Kobe can only get ONE? He has ZERO chance of ever winning another either. MJ had 5 and that was because they couldn't give it to him every year. He finished second 4 more times. Kobe has finished second twice.

MJ has SIX Finals MVP's, Kobe has two.

MJ has a better shooting percentage, never lost a Finals series, hold virtually every scoring record other than most points scored and played less in the NBA than Kobe has now. He even had a Defensive Player of the Year award. Kobe doesn't have that. MJ played in a much deeper league and a better NBA as well.

Kobe is a GREAT basketball player, but he is not even the greatest Laker of all time, (Magic, Wilt & Kareem), muchless, in the conversation with MJ.

That said, I can see what the OP means with Broner and Mayweather. It is somewhat similar.

I never compared Jordan to Kobe. I said Kobe tried to emulate Jordan. Jordan is much better than Kobe.

I never said Kobe was in Jordan league. Jordan was a much better player than Kobe. My point was the way Kobe tried to copy and emulate Jordan reminds me of how Kobe tried to do the same with Jordan.

Michael Jordan was a much better player than Kobe. There is no debate over that. Jordan is the GOAT. I only have Kobe ranked around 12th on my ATG rankings. My point was the way Broner tries to copy Floyd reminds me of how Kobe tried to copy Jordan.

    ajack,

I agree with you, I think it is a good comparison. The only difference is that Kobe never paid MJ the respect he deserved until a few years ago. Broner shows Floyd respect now.

The OPs comparison would put Floyd on Jordans level which is unrealistic. You cant compare Floyd to Jordan. Floyd would be the Kobe of his era at best and thats a very generous comparison

That's an insult to Kobe and Jordan.

More like Broner is Harold Miner and Floyd is Tracy McGrady.
