Certainly one of the best heavyweights in the history of professional boxing. Top 5, top 10? Doesn't really matter, he's up there and will be remembered.
:thumbsup Also, the poster describing those other HW's is obviously picking out and exaggerating their weaknesses and neglecting their strengths. If you want to go down that route, you could also say Lewis got knocked out by two below world class fighters, retired without giving Vitali a rematch, didn't beat prime Tyson Holyfield etc. But we have enough of those idiots on here already. I think its agreed widely that a case can be made for Lewis anywhere from about 3-15, the most convincing probably placing him in the middle of both extremes imo
Ali beat 1 top 10 ATG HW, while being down 6-1 on the cards. If Foreman wouldve simply slowed down and waited for the KO rather than relying on his killer instinct......well, we all know why and how Ali won that fight. Frazier would be battered by Byrd. Liston couldnt beat anyone once the mafia released him. Patterson would get KTFO by Enzo. H Cooper was a journeyman. Chavulo was a tough nut to crack but never beat a single Blevel fighter. H2H, Lewis would run through all the 60s, 70s, 80s HWs except maybe Foreman, Ali, 85-88 Tyson, Holmes, Shavers. But anyone who bet against him at 1/1 would be a fool.:deal
anyone else think that if (providing bowe wasnt so stupid and had a decent manager) bowe fought lewis after his 1992 fight with holyfield, which is the time it would/should of happened, then bowe would of beat lewis. this was the lewis that was getting beat by bruno and later got ko'd by mccall. opinions?
He's behind Bowe. Bowe and Lewis both fought in 1988 games it was Lennox's 2nd Olympics Bowe was undisputed champ 4 years later It took Lennox 9 years to achieve the same feat. Soon as he did it he ducked the mandos.
