Why are least expected countries good in Olympic boxing, but not in the Pros?

Teams like Japan, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan etc are good in the Olympics, but then you never hear of many top level fighters from these countries.

Why is this? Is it just due to lack of promotion and marketing?

I was thinking about China in boxing...
If they opened up they would light the smaller weight classes up.
(About a billion Flyweights-Welterweights ****en ready to be unleashed)

Da **** are they waiting for???

    The judges and scoring system.

Go back to the old system and those Countries would fall back with a quickness.

    1...People can leave China.

2...Pro boxing is allowed there anyway.

    It's not Cuba.

Completely different sport, far as rules go. Pros with 12 rounds no head gear, year round focus, are a few things that immediately come to mind.

its all politics now. if you won the gold in boxing that meant you were going to make some noise as a pro but thats not the case these days. stop chasing gold and start chasing checks is what id say to the usa guys.

british pakastani are also good in the amateurs but keep getting their glass jaws exposed in the pros. it's to the point i wonder if he should be allowed to wear headgear in a pro fight every time he fights just to make things even.

Almost no fighters from those countries along with Kazakhstan ever go pro.
