    According to a source, WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. missed four days of training this week at the Wild Card Gym because “he didn’t feel like coming in.” Junior finally showed up last night around 8PM and worked late into the night with trainer Freddie Roach. Chavez Jr. is currently preparing for the biggest fight of his life against Sergio Martinez on September 15 in Las Vegas.

    sometimes breaks are necessary. he may be dealing with small injuries...he may feel like he's over training...these things happen. no one knows chavez better than himself. rest is just as important as work.

    lucia rijker who trained with freddie felt she needed a break when she was getting ready for a major fight. she told freddie she was going to take a day off...and freddie gave her **** and demanded that she come to the gym. so she went against her own better judgment and went in anyway....then pop...there goes her achilles tendon.

    sometimes fighters have to trust their instincts.
