That scoring in the Joshua fight was way too close for my liking. First fight I was impressed with Joshua. He's really getting into it.
so joshua won a close fight, where imo the first round was very bad scored. but joshua got to dychko late. for the pro business Pro Joshua: physical strong looks like he has good stamina good power heart and will very good pressure fighter nice inside fighting Contra Joshua: no footwork at all bad defense looks very basic pro dychko: ****ing slick very fast and elusive good power very good upper body movement great footwork contra dychko: he has to gain weight and become physicaly stronger looks like he has stamina issues and imo he broke down mentally in the last round against joshua i think these two guys will make very good pros. especially dychko if he can keep his speed and gain some muscle weight joshua looks for me like the new bruno. he has to work on his skills
Joshua just spanked Dychko and made him look like a runner and a *****, yet people are still talkin ****. I'm not saying Joshua is an ATG, but ESB can be a little ridiculous at times.
Steady on! let's not get carried away. His biggest strength is his height and ability to lean away. Does that make him slick? looks a little clumsy to me. Don't get me wrong, he looks a decent fighter, but cmon!! heaping a lot of praise on him and he couldn't maintain his game for 3 rounds. Needs a lot of work. You did mention mentality and fitness i'll give you that, but from what I have seen he's not that slick, but he's rangy and can pull away from a punch well, decent reflexes. Joshua impressed me, strong, sturdy fighter with good basics. I think he can make it as a pro. I think if this was a pro fight, he would have stopped Ivan in the next round as he was unraveling to those vicious left hooks he was landing in the third. I think his style will translate well in the pro ranks. Remember, we're not in an era where we are blessed with many skillful heavyweights, a solid tough well drilled fighter with power can do very well against the current crop of heavies. When you saw Audley in the olympics he pitter patted his way through it, Joshua on the other hand has shown some power and good close range fighting skills. Hope he goes on grabs the gold and turns pro. Why waste yourself in the amateur game for another 4 years. Go make some money and a name for yourself Josh!
Its one of them strange one's for me. I found it proper weird watching women fight, it gave me a strange feeling. I am not quite sure weather i want to put extra emphasis on this.....
:thumbsup Boxing fans are fickle at the best of times one loss or close decision can turn a prospect into a bum and a win can reverse that just as quickly.
hes still learning as an amateur or a pro. hes very inexperienced, therefore its not surprising hes got some technique and skills issues. and yet...... hes in the olympic final having already got a worlds silver medal after just 30 odd am fights. thats clearly not up the standard of some on esb. tough ****ing crowd! his biggest challenge is going to be actually progressing and not falling for the bright lights that are going to come his way. at 21, if i had the same amount of fame/money/women as hes got coming to him, i would have made a complete **** of myself. in fact i did anyway, just without the fame/money/women.
One thing I noticed today was how Joshua was fighting with a style that would be suitable for the pro's. He didn't fight with an amateur style at all, which is usually get in, throw as much leather as you can and try to get in a load of scoring shots. He stayed poised, used his jab well and took his time picking his shots. When he fights this way, his lack of footspeed isn't a big problem. I enjoyed his display. Dytchko fought pretty well too i thought. For his size he moves relatively well and knows how to counter punch. I think Joshua is a very promising talent. Its really difficult to know how a fighter would develop as a pro, but I see potential in him. He's still young let's not forget. People wrote him off too quickly after the savon fight. But i think savon happens to be the best super heavyweight in the tournament, so it was a very difficult draw for him.
