He didn't really disclose whether he'll stay at 140 or move up to 147.. it will be interesting once his next fight is announced.. love him or hate him I'm sure everyone is itching to know who he's going to fight next..
good, 140 is no place for him, I don't ever want to see him there, ever apart from cherry picking weak welters. he is NOT a 147 fighter, he has been smaller than his last two opponents at 140 and got bullied by them both
Because Tabares has him doing weights and not leg exercises like Ariza. Also Tabares has him on organic food diet.
I thought it was the style/technique that amir needs tuning? Unless some believe that Amir would have taken that Left from garcia with more success if conditioned by Ariza..?
It may have given him a greater chance of surviving the aftermath. Smart move to stay at 140lbs, it would get catastophic for him up at 147lbs.
147 has some top fighters without doubt but there's also a number of winnable fights for him there. The likes of Malignaggi, Bailey, Alexander, even Brook. The main man at Light Welterweight for me is Matthysse and that is one person who Khan should stay away from. I can understand him wanting to stay at 140 and try and become no.1 but the reality is he has lost consecutively to opponents who aren't any great shakes and there isn't much money in the weightclass anyway. Much better to move up and take on bigger money fights vs potentially easier opponents and try and get in the mix at Welterweight rather than look for rematches vs Garcia or Peterson or take on the likes of Matthysse which present greater risks IMO
Both Peterson and Garcia are welters, in all honesty. Lamont was 155lbs against Khan.... not sure what Garcia was, but he's no doubt around that mark. I don't think Khan would be harmed by moving up. He'd just lose fights for the same reasons that he's lost the last two. He loses form badly when he throws more than one punch, leaving himself wide open.... and he's utterly gash on the inside.... and he has a weak chin.
It's funny because people used to say Khan was a massive light welter when he really isnt, he's average. he'd be a small welterweight and would just get bashed up even worse By the way Khan will always suck on the inside, there is no remedy for that with his chin his only hope is a trainer who can teach him to fight extremley tight on the outside, he needs to become robotic
There's hardly any good inside fighters around these days. You've got.... Floyd Hopkins Ward Marquez Bradley Cotto Perhaps Pacquiao at a push, Chavez jr isn't bad I guess, nor is Canelo. That's about it, there may be a couple I've missed but it's pretty weak. Froch is terrible, Wlad doesn't do anything.....
Wlad doesn't do anything..... apart from stay undefeated for years and so dominant people rubbish him AND NOT the endless ****ers who get in the ring with him unfit and after saying there gonna do this and that, just **** themselves and dont try at all (or blame there toe, though at least haye lasted the full route)
