Now that Pacquaio has obviously lost a step in losing a controversial fight with Bradley and Mayweather had a slightly difficult UD over a twice stopped Cotto, has the fight lost its luster?

Been turned off to this since late 2010.
(Never since let this ever cross my mind as a possibility)

    Arum "Blackballed" Mayweather.
Now that TMT/Floyd have the upper hand Arum will get the boot.

From a boxing point of view, how can you seriously have no enthusiasm towards this fight? Some people will *****, but if and i mean IF this fight does get signed, they will all jump back on the bandwagon.

No doubt about it... It would rake in the $$$
But it will be Duran/Leonard III when it could have been Duran/Leonard I.

Voted for option one, but I wouldn't say it's completely lost its relevance. It's nowhere near the fight it once was, but it'll still be one of the best to be made. Only slightly, though (which is huge shame). I can think of several other fights I am/would be more intrigued by - Martinez-Sergio, Donaire-Rigo, Vitali-Haye, Cotto-Canelo, etc. All of these fights are (and can be) made at the correct time when they need(ed) to be made. And that's where Pac-May has failed badly. Back in 2009 after Pac destroyed Cotto, who would have thought three years later we'd still be waiting for the fight to be made? That's a ****ing ****-take.

They had their chance... they ****ed up... BADLY.

Its all over now & neither fighter can ever be ranked with the elite ATGs now, the winner of a 2009-11 fight between the two would have joined the Whitaker`s of the world, now they`ll forever be known as the guys that blew a once in a lifetime chance.

    **** em both.

don't lie, if this fight was made official and they were going to fight at christmas, u know u would be excited! that would be pretty cool! i'm pretty hyped for sept 15th as well, the icing on the cake would be if they announced a christmas bout between pac and mayweather at the martinez vs chavez jr fight, on the undercard could be the winners of the martinez vs chavez jr and canelo, lopez fights (assuming canelo beats lopez of course)!!

damn i should be a promoter! lol

Because at one time, it was the most competitive matchup in boxing.

Now there's more interesting matchups to be made.

that card right there would break every ppv, arena tickets, etc etc $$$$ record in the history of sports. mega card.

my next move as a combat promoter would be to have mixed cards featuring mma and boxing in the same arena, same night.

That's the way I see it, too. For me, the fear was always Pac slowing down before Mayweather. He's nowhere near as skilled or as intelligent, and so his game was always gonna' be more affected by wear-and-tear. And now it's been around 18 or so months since we were last wooed by a Pacquiao performance (although I thought he did ok against Bradley). As much as I've been denying it, he's not the same animal he once was.

The gap between the two has grown pretty big.

Manny Pacquiao has gone on the decline or he just wasn't the talent we all thought he was. He needs to have a good preformance against Bradley or Marquez. Otherwise Mayweather is better off looking else where for a chalanage.
