The result would have been the same at any time. But now, if they fight and Mayweather wins, all that will be heard are excuses of how Manny was not the same guy.

They don`t care now (because they are pieces of ****) but I can guarantee they will care when when their career is done & they are too old & its too late for them to correct their mistake.

Boxing needed it when it was at its highest, they never did **** to make it happen... now they are getting on a bit they will probably try get it done but the fans that they ****ed over should **** them over & tell them to **** off, they had their chance & blew it, they are past news.

80% of the threads here are about these two guys. If they ever do fight the PPV hits 3 million.

The fight should have happened during 2010-2011.....Now with both past their prime and with Pacquiao's loss ......

Would Leonard - Duran been a big event ....would Ali - Frazier have been a mega event if one of them had lost prior to their fight?....how about Arguello vs Pryor? Alexis was only 30 and had won 14 fights in a row......

Mayweather and Pacquiao are on the downward slide of their careers. The fight may happen but it will no longer be categorized as a "Fight of the Century"

I'm still excited about it, some of the enthusiasm has subsided because the curtain has been pulled back on Manny, and many of his fans know he gets his **** pushed in, but I still want to see it. It's the same fight today it ever was, the Manny is declining is an excuse from Manny fans that know he's in for an ass beating.

completely lost interest. i always believed mayweather would win a 'safety first' type fight and outbox manny to a wide UD (with a few exciting moments from manny as he bothered money with some wild combos).... recently however, following pac's less than stellar showings against (an admittedly very classy) marquez and bradley - lest not forget the venomless effort against sugar shane- and i give pac no chance whatsoever. the size difference would be more apparent and mayweather's more aggressive approach (see in his last few fights) would be curtains for manny.

it would be a one sided mismatch.

It has. They both missed it by playing around too much. Should've happened by now. Their rematch should've happened by now. Getting older, Pac got messed over in his last fight. Want to see other fights. Ward-Dawson is next generation. Chavez jr.-Martinez even though Sergio is up in his 30s, Canelo-Lopez is next gen. Broner,Rios,Garcia,Khan etc. That's where it is with me. I never got the feeling that they really negotiated. Just played it up in the media because they knew we'd be excited. I want the fight, but it better happen very soon or it won't mean anything...

Its still there of course, but both fighters and promoters know they got the public wrapped around their pinkies. I think ultimately these 2 let the fans down. If they really wanted it would of got done. Just look at Marquez he faced both willingly under their terms and conditions and not a peep from him. That ladies and gentlemen is a real G. That's having real cohones.

The other day I managed to scoop the top billing url: www.mayweathervspacquiao.com. I was totally shocked no one had this domain. The guy who owned it before did not bother even paying the 10$ renewal fee and just let it expire. I have more hope that the fight will happen, but still, it speaks volumes.

still though, apparently 27000 people a month still search exactly for mayweather vs pacquiao (110000 for some variation). So there is still interest, not as much as in 2009-2010 though. (google keywords for: mayweather vs pacquiao)

    i doubt it.

they could fight next year and it would do over 2 mill ppv buys.

people still bought mayweather/cotto when they were supposed to fight in 2007.
