A lot of brits are saying that "Calzaghe beat American legends and ATG's in their own backyard". When they say this they are of course meaning RJJ. My question is, is the RJJ win really worthy of boasting? Oh and didn't Calzaghe get dropped too? I thought he had an iron chin. What do you think, ESB?
Then why do people keep saying Calzaghe beat "American legends in their own backyard"? That makes it sound like a pretty great win.
Who are these people? Calzaghe beat RJJ which is nothing to brag about. His win over Hopkins was extremely close and controversial (I had Hopkins ahead on the scorecards, very close fight obviously) which makes bragging about it a bit hard as well, doesn't it?
RJJ had just beaten 1st ballot HOFer tito trinidad, easily. He said after the fight he is back 100% and ready to take on anyone at LHW As far as the "KD", RJJ hit him with his forearm and pushed him down. An illegal dirty tactic but we're talking about ROIDS jones jr who is a cheat.
Over the hill Eubank ---> decade plus of fluff ---> over the hill hopkins ---> over the hill and drug through the valley Roy Jones. That, my friends, is the Calzaghe legacy.
31 is over the hill? atsch atsch atsch Win over Eubank as 1st title fight > Wins over a weight drained james toney and fresh out of prison BHOP
agreed. Hopkins kicked calzaghe's ass easily!:rofl dumb ****, calzaghe didn't do **** that fight. handing him rounds for missing punches is just stupid. i don't understand how you guys score fights.
Roy was getting knocked out before the Calzaghe fight and has been getting knocked out after the fight with joe and whoever thinks roy beating an equally shot blown-up, bloated Tito Trindad at 170 was a good win obviously ydksab... This win means about as much as Canelo's win over Mosley or Quillen's win over Wright or Garcia's win over Eric or Pac's win over Oscar or....well you get the point....
Meaningless really, RJJ lost to Danny Green.. nuff said If Roy was in his prime that would be different fight, not saying that he sure would win but still
