A win at a weight he should've stopped trying to get to a long time before that fight. Did you see it? He was gassed after the first round where he almost stopped shields.
Well, I really thought Shields was something special due to that win. Guess Hendo should've been at 205 all along.
Is it me or is THIS the "real" Jake Shields that we've seen all along? I've always thought his fights were boring. You just had to respect that win streak he put together - especially after that win over Dan Henderson. Jake has failed to impress in the UFC. I think that says more about the level of competition in the UFC than anything else.
Agreed. It was a good tough in-fight. Solid offense and defense from both - although I thought the way that Jake had Ed's arm - that he should have been able to roll over into an armbar. But that's just me.
Well he did beat the next challengers at WW and LHW or in Okamis case have had a shot at the title. Cardio is a huge part of Jakes game, and the cut to 170 certainly did effect that. Not to say he'll be as dominant at MW in the UFC as he was before mind you
Jake looked much better tonight. Makes me wonder what could've been if he hadn't wasted nearly 2 years at a weight he can't competitively make anymore.
Any win over hendo is impressive but it isn't a win against him without major factors in Shields favour.
