After 2004 RJJ lost to Tarver (2x), Johnson and pretty much every decent opponent he faced. A win over him in 2008 wasn't worth much, I would rate Calzaghe win (even if close) over Hopkins much higher.

Calzaghe-Jones was as good a win as Berbick-Ali, Joppy-Duran, Tszyu-Chavez, Camacho-Leonard, or any number of other wins achieved over a shot-to-smithereens walking corpse of a fighter who used to be great.

Jones was getting one-punched to defeat by Tarver and Johnson YEARS before Calzaghe got to him. RJJ hadn't beaten a top 10 fighter in any division for FIVE YEARS before facing Joe.

Completely worthless, pointless, meaningless, hollow nothing of a victory, by any standards.

    :deal

Not that great, jones was clearly on the downslide tryin to make money and imo calzaghe was just tryin to make up for the fact that his level of cimp sucked

Slyk is clearly a troll on a windup. Has this thread not been done 500 times? How does it still keep going 5+ pages :patsch

Calzaghe was a great fighter, but RJJ was out of his prime at that time, by far. Not a great win. But defeating Mikkel Kessler and Chris Eubank and Bernard Hopkins was great achievements.

ok dummy. since you obviously like to look at numbers but dont know a thing in regards to "context" .

is 31 over the hill for all fighters? obviously not . is it over the hill for Eubank considering its his 50th fight and in his 13th year? **** yeah he was done big time. he lost 2 of his previous meaningful fights vs steve collins while picking up wins in between vs cans, then super joe gives him YET ANOTHER LOSS....and then eubank loses his next 2 fights and retires, albeit at cruiser, eubank still lost 5 of his last 5 title fights with JOES right there in the middle. so **** WIN compared to Jones beating an undefeated james toney.
failey would be proud of your stupidity :rofl
