Anthony Joshua probably the most undeserving Gold Medalist Ever

Why would they care, amateur boxing is shite.

 

And yet it's proven to provide the grounding for some of America's greatest ever fighters. And the amateur game is about to change big time so will hopefully go back to providing that service like it used to, whilst being engaging enough to convince top athletes to turn to boxing rather than MMA.

I think the standard was good I enjoyed watching the fights this year stylistically the Brazilians Cubans and even the Italians were great. I find he tippy tappy and at times scrappy ABA finals hard to watch.

 

The fact that Joshua was down 3 points going into the last round was staggering, i thought he was at least even going into that final round.

 

I personally had it for Cammarelle.

I have to say however that it was close, and I would not have objected to either fighter being given the decision.

Big congratulations to Joshua.

 

I have bitched and moaned about the scoring throughout but I thought Joshua and Cammarelle were both **** poor and i had no problem with them scoring it to Joshua.
It was an awful final and a below average standard. Joshua hinted he was staying amateur and from what I saw he needs to.


On a positive note... Nicola Adams and Robeisy Ramirez Carrazana were my personal favourite boxers during the games.

 

I'm from UK, Joshua got a gift against Savon but I thought he edged the Italian.
I agree with previous posters that the quality of the boxing has been overall ****ing terrible, the final was pretty ****.

That being said, Joshua has only been boxing 4 years and it is simply amazing how he made it this far- you have to understand its only when you reach 30+fights that you can start fighting at 80% of your potential as a result of getting used to fighting in front of crowds/managing nerves- those that have boxed before will understand what I mean. I think he has the right attitude in terms of staying amateur for his development as a fighter but personally financially it would be wise to turn pro. I can see Joshua improving but I don't think his handspeed or footspeed will improve.

I have to agree, A very underwhelming final, horrible fight, and i didn't think Joshua deserved the win. of all the "over-rated" talk on the british board recently, Anthony Joshua is a name that pops into my head when I hear that term.

no harm to the fella, congratz, but IMO he shouldnt have that gold medal.

 

Because a fool who supports someone because of their race is just as likely not to support (or worse) someone else because of their race.
