There was a thread about this yesterday. I'm going to watch his war with Holyfield again this week.

Man, liver cancer and only 54-years old. First "Smoking" Joe Frazier was taken by this same disease no more than 9-months ago now Dokes. R.I.P., champ.

His March, 1989 war with Evander Holyfield, Evander's third fight as a heavyweight, was easily the #1 runner up to that years best fight right behind Roberto Duran's surprise 12-round split decision victory over Iran "The Blade" Barkley. Dokes-Holyfield, an all out classic at best.
