True, but that isn't what the TS asked.

Why do you have Liston above Holmes.

It was only roughly in order, and to be fair it was something I put together off the top of my head

Ali for winning, but Oscar does indeed a slightly more impressive set of top opponents faced.

But they both faced them all (at least till Ali got really old and shot2****).

ali is the greatest and beat opponents when ppl thought he wouldn't.

dlh failed against the best opposition he faced.

Oscar fought the best fighters of 3 different era's, spanning from LW-MW, from Chavez all the way to Pacquiao

Ali fought the best HW's from 3 era's, from Liston all the way to Holmes.

Tough poll, it's really hard to pick one, I might just give the edge to Ali, especially because in 5 years he faced Frazier and Norton 3 times each, and Foreman. That's a gruelling schedule, especially considering the likes of Foreman, Frazier, Norton and Holmes were all prime when he faced them

Comparing prime fighters, depends on how you rank Trinidad, Hopkins, Mayweather and Pacquiao

Against Frazier (trilogy), Norton (trilogy), Foreman and Holmes

i voted ali! but time will tell. How in years to come we remember the hopkins, trinidads, vargas and moselys will define oscars true greatness. Will they be remembered like the listons, frazers, foremans, nortons, shavers etc?? time will tell. i think so but time will tell

It's a good point regarding multiple fights, as Oscar had relatively few rematches, which is the only real knock on the quality of his competition.

Ali, because he beat them all...something oscar can't even come close to saying.
