Funny how people think differently.....to me the only way Froch could have one that fight was by KO and he did which was amazing.

You often hear in the corner the fighter being told you have to knock hi out to win...how many times do you see it actually happen?

Not a great performance but what a win...

Hatton is greater right now...he was the lineal Champ at 140 beating the best fighter in the division,he was on the p4p list from 05-09,was a two weight World Champ and only lost to the two best fighters on the planet.
The fact is Froch is a belt holder in a division right now and lost to Mikkel Kessler and even if he beats Ward a lot of people will still say he needs to beat Bute and Kessler to be the #1 of the division.

Over the hill yet was still a massive favoutite to beat Hatton with ease..also Tszyu was ranked #3 best fighter in the world when he lost to Ricky so who has Froch beat thats better than him?
Abraham,Pascal,Johnson and Dirrell are good wins but their nowhere near Tszyu and thats a fact.

I don't really think Hatton being the linear champion at 140 really stumps anything Froch has done.

He only defended the title a handful of times. Maussa, Urango, Castillo, Lazcano, Paulie & Pacquiao.

What he does have is the greater body of ''B level'' fighters on his slate, and his biggest win is superior to Carl's.

To me Hatton spent too much of his prime fighting C and D level opponents for the WBU ''title'', it's arguable that because of his lifestyle he was already peaked by the time he faced Tszyu. Certainly, the man who fought Luis Collazo and Juan Urango wasn't the same man who decimated Michael Stewart back in 2004.

I prefer Froch's overall record to Hatton's, but there isn't a great deal in it in all honesty.

Hatton was THE MAN at 140.... Hatton dominated down there and beat some good fighters. He had problems at 147 but still went up and beat Collazo at a different weight.

Froch has never been THE MAN at his weight division and has been in very close fights with Taylor, Kessler & Dirrell in his world level bouts. None of those guys are in the class of Tzsyu.

In terms of Career achievement, it's not even anywhere near close.... Definately Hatton.

I accidentally stumbled upon this and thought it was worth bringing up again since it hasn't been discussed in over a year.

In the last 14 months (amount of time that this topic was last discussed), Froch has since lost to Andre Ward and annihilated Lucian Bute.

    Has anyone changed their stance?

Froch may have the better wins but in the UK, Froch is not that we'll known where as Hatton was a working class hero. It's difficult to imagine anything matching the build up to Hatton vs Mayweather.

:deal thank **** this is recognised. The Tzsyu win is probably THE most overrated win of the last 30 years. Ricktards are too thick and unknowledgable to know this. It wasn't too disimilar to Larry Holmes beating Ali, yeah he beat a big name but he was past it.

:patsch jesus Christ. What a ****ing Ricktard. Hatton fought nowhere near the level of opposition for his division that Froch has done. Don't include floyd and manny because those fights were basically Hatton selling his 0 and his 1 for massive pay days under the guise of challenging the best and safe in the knowledge that he wasn't expected to win anyway. The fact he was able to get ******s like you to support him in droves, gave the false impression he was a better fighter than he actually was.

To say his resume is better than Froch's is laughable. This is why iv no respect for Ricktards. They just love the man and know nothing about boxing.

Froch's resume has clearly surpassed Hatton's IMO.

I lean even more toward Froch than I did before. The Ward loss wasn't too bad, I mean I don't see anyone beating ward right now, and Froch finished the stronger. The Bute win was class, it was Lacey-esque

You take Taylor off Froch's record (whom he nearly lost to) you get; Pascal - no big puncher and slow at SMW, Dirrell - beat Froch but home decision, Kessler - beat Froch, Abraham - middleweight moving up, Johnson - over the hill weight drained, Ward - whooped Froch's ass and Bute - untested paper champion. Bute was the first champion Froch beat = fact.

Hatton had the far better career, his WBU, IBO fights were quality against some real good opposition. Castillo, Callazo, Malignaggi (current champ), Tyszu, Lazcano were all top class at the weight.

A SMW Hatton would maul Froch.

:deal this. You know exactly who knows nothing about boxing when they fully believe and carry on like Tszyu was a genuine earth shaking win vs a prime pound for pound fighter at the top of his game.
