worshipping Oscar is 1 wrong thing , each 2 his own taste , but stating this idiocy shows that u r totally unaware of d history of d sport .

u just don't know about it b4 Oscar's turning pro probably , except from a couple of dozens of names such as Tyson , Ali , Holmes , Oscar's elderly opponents (Chavez , Camacho , Whitaker) , Rocco Markegiano , etc .

Your history of d sport began with Oscar's date of turning pro . Or is it Roid Jones' ?

No way. In a post-war only list? Yes, well, maybe.

I`ll give my top 10 but thats it (keep in mind my list will only contain fighters that I`ve seen decent footage of, apologies to the greats like Greb, Langford, B. Leonard & co)

    1. Sugar Ray Robinson
    2. Henry Armstrong
    3. Muhammad Ali
    4. Willie Pep
    5. Roberto Duran
    6. Ezzard Charles
    7. Sugar Ray Leonard
    8. Joe Louis
    9. Pernell Whitaker
    10. Julio Cesar Chavez

You could swap a lot of these guys from 2-6 & also from 8-10... Robinson keeps his place tho, he was the best fighter that ever sucked air bar none.... you could maybe swap SRL & Louis... you could also swap Pea & JCC (tho I`m definitely in the minority in that line of thinking on here)

Fair enough. Where do you have him P4P wise? I think what sways me with a guy like Hopkins is his longevity, H2H competitiveness, his MW record defenses, and his numerous underdog wins.

Feel free to change my opinion because I'm nowhere near a fan of his :verysad

Tyson actually, but I've done my best to read and watch older fighters every chance I get, owning numerous career sets and books.

Between 50-60. For same reasons as you. Others have edge on him for quality of opposition. That's all, his middleweight era was fairly poor.

Unlike most, I give Hop' massive credit for the Trinidad win.

Check out my twitter guys @ferociousflea was having a debate with some idiots about Cotto Vs Trinidad earlier; they felt Cotto could outbox him because Winky and 'Nard did :patsch :rofl

I don`t... only a moron would say he isn`t one of the greatest but I`d have Jones, fmj, pac, Morales & Barrera over him... maybe Marquez too.

Come on, guys. It's not perfect, but at least it's not another list that includes Tyson, Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Marciano in the top 10.

Hearns is too high, SRL too low.

Johnson and Dempsey have no business being here, especially at the expense of Joe Louis!

I'm glad to see some love for Ricardo Lopez.

Canzoneri and Gomez need to be on here; McGovern and Hopkins, great as they are, do not.

    stupid pricks.

Trinidad would beat the **** out of Cotto & it wouldn`t be that close IMO.

No problem with that....just saying that he could be argued in my view.....I rate Jones and Pac over him.....well, Jones for sure......He was greater than MAB and Morales IMO but I guess it´s close too.....

Yeah, it is close between a lot of them... there has been no real standout fighter that is a level above everybody else in recent times, perhaps RJJ in his prime for a period you could argue (possibly)... the winner of a fmj-pac fight could have claimed as such but it never happened so they are placed (rightfully so) with the rest as mentioned above.

    :good
