Hopkins was a nobody when Jones beat him, it's amazing he get's soo much credit for it similarly Margarito KO'd Martinez but people hardly keep bringing that win up to pump up Cheato's resume.

Yeah if your talking about Roy Jones post Tarver... any version of Jones pre Tarver pisses all over Benn, I liked/like Benn, he was one of my favourites but no way he`s ever beating a prime version of Jones mate, thats mental.

We all know Hopkins and Toney were tailor made for Rjj. Not very fast, counter punchers.

Benn on the other hand, a ferocious relentless quick fisted concussive puncher that would have exposed Rjj's china long before the journeymen who KO'ed Jones did.

RJJ was a master cherry picker and a master PR man.

Roy beat the same hopkins who had the ability to rule MW for years. Hopkins didnt suddenly become amazing after he got beat by roy jones, he had that ability when roy beat him.

I don't understand why fighting these guys makes him greater when these guys resumes don't come close to his !

Yeah he cherry picked the best guy at 168.

Then he cherry picked the 175 Champions and unified the division.

He then went up to heavy, and then cherry picked Tarver on his way back down.

He then agreed to a rematch after the hardest fight of his career.

If Benn had have caught him, of course he'd have gone. But would he have been able to have landed flush? I don't think so.

Yes he still had 'the abilityl' when he lost to Clinton Mitchell aswell but I doubt you rate Mitchell's win highly.

absolutely wrong, that was his first fight.

everyone improves on their first fight or earliest fights, as you well know.

try again, bu without the disingenuity this time.

The best guys at 168? haha.:patsch
Heavy he cherry picked pillow handed slow poke Ruiz, then fought a hype job in Tarver, got exposed by journeyman Johnson:patsch:lol:

Benns speed and lateral movement would have given RJJ fits, that's why he would only fight slow guys and counter punchers. He would have faired better against Eubank, but Eubanks war with Benn probably worried him a little. He would have been Ko'ed by McClennan no doubt, he would have beaten Collins easily. But Benn and G-man both flatten him within 5-6 rounds. :deal

Hopkins was raw and Toney was weight-drained. They don't mean much.

Eubank and Nunn would've been more impressive than Michalczewski and Benn.

Winning a HW belt for a man of Roy Jones' size is impressive no matter how you shake it..:yep Especially in an Era of massive HW's. Lewis, Klits... ect

And then to be able to drop from HW and beat the #1 Man at LHW in your very next fight, is difficult.. Historically, not many have done it.:deal
