Why does Manny refuse to face Cotto without a catchweight involved?

    Why wouldn't he fight De La Hoya at 154 or even 150?

    Because that was a non title, exhibition type bout against a guy unranked at welter. It didn't make Pac a welter, he went down to lww, weighed in 138.

    It wasn't really his call, but that wouldn't be reasonable at all, you'd be asking Pac to go up 15lbs and DLH to stay level vs their previous bout.

    But to remind you what really happened, this part time superstar decided to beat up on an accomplished midget to hold on to some relevance in the sport. The smaller the midget, the more accomplished he had to be. So after the Floyd rematch fell through (at 147?), he wanted Hatton or Pac at 147. Somehow Team Pac was smarter than Oscar, Shaefer, Beristain, Dundee, the bookmakers, and 90% of ESB (including you probably) and realized this was a no risk fight.

    Uhh.. Floyd has already fought at LMW twice and has the belts: He fought DLH and allowed him to come in @ 154, as well as Cotto. Why does he want Sergio to go down to 150 where he hasn't been in years?

    :rofl

    What does a title have to do with it???and the fact that Cotto was FORCED to put his title up at a catchweight is even worse

    We have no idea what the details of any negotiation is or isn't until the contract is signed.

    We do, however, have proof of Floyd being a chicken**** when it comes to fighting Martinez and asking him to drain down to a weight he hasn't been at in years.

    :lol::lol::patsch

    How do you know that for a fact? You don't.

    FACT: Floyd told Sergio the fight can happen @ 150

    FICTION: We know there were no negotiations between Floyd and Sergio

    Even if there weren't negotiations, would it surprise you? Asking a guy to drop 10 ****ing pounds? SMH.

    No but not for the lack of trying on Sergio's part. Floyd just told us one precondition.

    Pac just offered Cotto 147, which is not a catchweight. He then offered 150, which is what Cotto requested of the last super welter (not a good one) he's fought. He even asked for a 160 rehydration clause, I bet Pac would grant him that, unlike Marg.

    There are 0 articles of Floyd ASKING SERGIO TO FIGHT HIM AT A CATCHWEIGHT.but there are several articles with Sergio suggesting a catchweight..They NEVER even negotiated a fight nor sat at the table for a possible fight

    Pac forcing Cotto to put up the belt he won vacant vs Jennings is bad form, but the fact is, most big cws involve belts if there are any to be had. For example, Cotto requested to defend his belt at a cw (against a one eyed bum lol), with a rehydration clause. DLH tried to unify his unearned belt at a cw. PWill didn't ask Sergio to leave his lineal belt home for the rematch at a cw.
