Why does Manny refuse to face Cotto without a catchweight involved?

    Really?

    http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ki-iole_mayweather_pacman011812

Kevin Iole is full of ****, then? Lou Dibella, too?

Mayweather said he would consider middleweight champion Sergio Martinez on May 5 if a Pacquiao fight could not be made, providing Martinez could make 150 pounds. Martinez, who is the third-ranked fighter behind Mayweather and Pacquiao in the Yahoo! Sports rankings, would do that, promoter Lou DiBella said. “It would hurt him to make 150, but he could do it,” DiBella said. “We’ve had this conversation and he has told me he could do it. If Mayweather wants to fight on May 5, Sergio absolutely, unequivocally would do it. He would want the opportunity to fight the best fighter in the world and he believes that Mayweather is the best fighter in the world right now.”

Martinez would have to abandon a planned March 17 fight with Matthew Macklin, but given the money involved in a Mayweather fight, that would not be an issue.

“If Sergio Martinez can make 150, let’s make the fight happen,” Mayweather said. “Like I said, there are no excuses. I’m a little different than other guys. He’s got a very, very impressive style. But like I said before, my main focus is a Manny Pacquiao fight.”

How does that make it better, being unwilling to negotiate with presumably the best guy at your weight, who's desperate to fight you?

    WRONG.

Read the article. Why in God's name would Sergio pick the 150lb weight?

Mayweather said he would consider middleweight champion Sergio Martinez on May 5 if a Pacquiao fight could not be made, providing Martinez could make 150 pounds

Because Sergio was desperate and was telling the media that he would fight him at 150 . At Mayweather gym a reporter told floyd that Sergio wants to fight him at 150. It is on YouTube.

Did you read the ****ing article? Sergio agreed to the 150 demand that Mayweather himself stated. Here's the quote again, in case you missed it:

Mayweather said he would consider middleweight champion Sergio Martinez on May 5 if a Pacquiao fight could not be made, providing Martinez could make 150 pounds

Using common sense.... Why would Martinez pick the 150 catchweight instead of Floyd?

So I ask again: Why does Floyd need Sergio to come all the way down to 150, instead of 154 where he fought De La Hoya and Cotto?

Apparently it's OK to drain a guy 10 ****ING POUNDS, 4 pounds below where you fought DLH four or five years ago.

I certainly don't agree with Pacquiao chasing another fight with Cotto, nor doing it at a catchweight. It's bull****. But there's a lot of hypocrisy in those that want to criticize this, but give Floyd a pass.

I don't think team Pac wants to fight much bigger men after the Margarito fight.

Pac was really clear on that, he doesn't even wanna do 150. But Arum wants it badly, both to try to bring Cotto back into the fold, and to boost Manny's ppv numbers. 150 is a legit offer, well in Cotto's comfort range.

That article is from the exact video I was talking about. Iole was one of the reporters there. I will post the video tomorrow when I'm on my computer.

Even when it's right there, plain as day in front, some of these floyd fanatics wiil deny ANYTHING that looks bad for floyd. They would need to sign a document stamped by a notary in front of them before they accept it. As long as they deny, they can continue on saying the **** they do.

Why 150? he can fight Sergio @ 154 since Mayweather has fought @ 154 twice against Cotto & De La Hoya. But they all criticize Pacquiao.
