How much of an advantage is this? Being able to train and eat healthily without dropping a huge amount of weight in a few weeks?

Floyd is known for being close to fight weight all year round, Froch too only puts on a couple of pounds. I wonder how much more strength and endurance they have compared to a fighter who drops a huge amount of weight, especially those that cut a huge amount of water.

Any nutritionists/body builders on here can explain how it affects things like stamina, endurance, speed etc?

Well it can be a good thing or have draw backs

my opinion is that if your good enough you will over come weight related issues unless facing another special fighter

The good, weight isnt a problem you can focus on just the fight and there wont be a hydration or draining issue...probably a good mental feel and a good focus and probably more confidence

issues, well the guys you face will be bigger since they came down in weight and gained weight back, this all i can think of

as far as condition and strength it shouldnt matter, i mean if your in shape at your natural weight then there shouldnt be a real issue

If you cut a lot of weight especially water then it dramatically effects the stamina. Being dehydrated to make weights affects stamina I believe, from experience I was probably the fittest I'd ever been but lost a lot to make the weight and I gassed after 1 round even though sparring I was doing 10 rounds a night with fresh boxers. Thats in ams though, weigh in is the same day of the fight, maybe the night before gives you a bit more leeway however I'm sure it can't be good for you

Chavez junior would be a heavyweight if he fought at his natural weight.

    Froch one of those

Broner and rios are those who "cheat" and bloat up bigtime

  6. Froch is the one I think of, he walks round under 175

Chavez Jr and Broner are the biggest weight frauds, beating up on much smaller men

I would have thought you would be stronger, healthier and fitter, the body is not supposed to dehydrate, although I understand the rationale I disagree with it as its not natural and IMO brings more danger to the boxer / sport.

Yes but boxers would rather lose more weight so they can fight at a lower weight, with the theory being they can put that weight back on after the weight in and therefore gain advantage over there opponent, some lose alot of weight by dehydrating which if not done carefully is putting the boxer at risk of injury.

You'd pretty much have to take it on a case by case basis, I'd think.

I remember Broner Vs Eloy Perez.... dude looked like he was fighting a hobbit. Broner must be a LMW who somehow sweats down to SFW. It's legal but it doesn't seem right.
