Norris had 2 stoppage losses @ d weight : Cooper & Miller and going by his record he was not that destructive @ d weight 2 make up 4 it 2b included much higher than i had him .

 

I definitely have Holyfield and Qawi as number one and two.

As good as Gomez looked, he didn't fight the best fighters. He's a top 10 talent, but he didn't challenge himself. Hell, he fooled everyone into thinking he deserved a heavyweight championship challenge.

 

What is 'offically recognized', as at least one 'alphabet organization' does not have a 'cruiserweight' division.

You say start with Camel but 'Cruiserweight' was coined in the early 20th century and do you consider Qawi's, Holyfield's et al work as 'Junior Heavyweights'?

He had no business in the ring with Vitalis. This is about the cruiserweight division, though. He's one of the most naturally talented fighters there. It would have been nice for him to try to make some noise and challenge some other champion. He held the title hostage over in Germany.

Yes, he should be in the top ten, but his opposition keeps him out of mine.

Probably Qawi, gomez figure in there somewhere. Adamek, Cunningham maybe as well. I've not looked in enough detail.

 

How did he earn his shot, by getting knocked out in one round by an unranked fighter? He didn't deserve his shot.

 

This thing about earning shots completely goes against the reality.

A fighter can secure a good championship payday by getting a mandatory position. To do that you play the organisation game. Gomez worked his way into a mandatory position. Sure he could have took on the top ten and hoped for a voluntary shot, but boxing is a business.

Will he go down as a hw great? No. Is he the most worthy of wbc contenders? No. But did he earn his shot? Absolutely.
