I think we will see a Calzaghe-Lacy situation here where the guy that supposedly has power and strength advantage gets schooled by the guy that has speed, skills, and slickness. I can see Chavez losing every second of every round. Martinez isn't going to stand in front of him flat footed like Andy Lee did. He is going to use movement, angles, and pinpoint accuracy punching to win in lopsided fashion. Chavez has been coddled too much. There is a huge gulf in class here and people that understand how Boxing works know this.

I know Martinez has power but he is not a savage puncher. I think Martinez wins this fight and much much easier than a lot of people on here think. If Chavez starts to cramp in his legs again like he has his last few fights he is screwed. This isn't Andy Lee he is fighting he is fighting a guy that has skills.

I honestly don't see Chavez being able to win many if any rounds. Martinez will use his movement and speed.

The fighters you mentioned all are great defensive fighters that have been successful in avoiding extremely powerful shots. Anyone can get knocked out if the punch is thrown hard enough. Just because a fighter has never been knocked out does not mean it is impossible for them to be knocked out.

 

Chavez has absolute Shi'ite for defense. Very well could get stopped late.
