Please, stop legitimizing that win so much, it was not a definitive acid test between those two fighters, the deck was stacked heavily in Mayweather's favour. Marquez clearly didn't know how to jump 2 weight divisions, he came in fat and Floyd cheated the catchweight, just to add to the natural advantages he already possessed. If the best sfw Mayweather fought the best sfw Marquez, Floyd would probably still win but it'd be a much closer, more competitive, and very different fight.

And to the TS - Whitaker v Marquez would be very entertaining, but JMM would get outclassed 118-110.

You're being an idiot. Pea's jab has Floyd beat even before you get on to the fact that Pea's inside game is much better, outside game is much better, and has far more offensive weapons and a better radar. Stylistically, Pea dominates a guy like Floyd. It would need to be a Duran type fighter that would run prime Pea close, a guy who could cut him off, slip his shots, and have the skills to get in close and fight rough. The best lightweight Chavez gives Pea a better fight than Mayweather does (though still loses clearly). Floyd would struggle to win a round decisively.

I didn't say I considered those wins "close". I said they definitely won at least 2 rounds, and what I implied by that was on the cards, not even in my opinion.

I was simply going off of what the official scores were. We all know how wrong they can be.

I did say Marquez couldn't do much worse than those guys. That's my opinion.

    118-110 type decision for Pea.

JMM rounds would be close, but Pea's would win his very clear.

Normally you seem like a knowledgeable poster from what i`ve read, I just assumed it was out of bias that you made the ridiculous call that Whitaker would easily beat fmj & even `beat him up.`

For me that seemed like the only explanation :conf

Floyd didn't have more offensive variety and I'm not sure where that came from. Pea beats marquez.. something like 10-2.. The CLOSEST I could see it is a 8-4 type of decision.

I don`t like floyd either & I do think Whitaker would outbox him maybe 8-4/7-5 in a competitive but clear enough technical fight... but only an idiot (no offence ;)) would think this would be a domination, either you are overrating Pea or underrating fmj, likely both. We`ll leave it at that because I sure as **** am not going around in circles trying to convince anyone that that ***** fmj is better than they think.

Duran at his best would do more than run prime Whitaker close, he`d beat him with a little room to spare... Chavez at his LW best vs Whitaker would be a toss-up, don`t let their actual fight confuse you, the timing suited Pea better than Chavez.

    Thats all :good

Stylistically, Pea beats Floyd easily. Easily. Pea is the worst possible match-up for Floyd. The worst. A southpaw with a great jab, and so much more. Think logically.

I also think Duran beats Pea, was just meaning it'd take someone close to his style and skills to ensure a close fight, as Pea would beat most of the best clearly.

Pea beats the best Chavez, but it'd be a lot closer and more competitive than the fight they did have.

I really don't think a Prime Chavez does much better... Pea was the best against swarmers and pressure fighters that I've ever seen... Chavez just won't ever make it that close.. no matter when it took place...

Those are the reasons I do choose Pea over fmj, I just feel fmj would do better in the fight than you think he would, no harm done there, we agree on the winner.

    Agree on the Duran-Pea thing.

I can easily accept the Pea-Chavez thing as well.

You think Duran has enough variety as a pressure fighter to get the job done ? :think

Don't forget to mention that Pea's mental strength was about 976865748545685 times greater than Zab's.
