If you drain a guy you drain him.

A new standard has been invented to defend the game Ward obviously plays. I am questioning it. Thats all.

dawson challenged ward at 168 before he ever said anything about 170. why would andre ward accept anything other than what was entailed in the initial challenge? not to mention, dawson and john scully both have made it abundantly clear before and after the fight was signed and sealed, and throughout the buildup, that they can easily make 168. discussion of alternative contractual weight agreements are moot.

Chad challenged Ward. He said he could easily make 168. What the **** is the problem??? I think Chad is starting to realise he will be in serious trouble come fight night...

No. I am saying Ward has a better chance at 168 compared to catchweight or 175. And therefore he insists on that weight. It's not because he lacks interest of Chads belt, like some posters likes to pretend, which is silly no mather what kind of argument they try with.

I thought he could make 140 easier than 147.. Which makes me wonder why he wouldn't take JMM or Bradley at 140.. Unless he can't make 140 comfortably anymore, which goes against everything stated about him being such a small WW.

I believe he can make 140 easier than 147, and he's at 147 because the higher up in weight he is the faster he is compared to majority of his opposition. Do you not believe he can make 140 easier than 147?

:thumbsup If Ward was fighting anyone else he'd be fighting at 168, most likely in Oakland. Dawson challenged him, at his weight. Ward didn't purposely try to get him to 168 to drain him, it was Dawson's INITIAL offer.

in no way is this "issue" in need of 11 pages of ****. dawson challenged ward, said he could make the weight and the fight was made easily. props to dawson for coming down and props to ward for taking it when he could make good money fighting guys he's already beat at smw.

what the **** is the problem. its not like the negotiations were bitter. this fight was made pretty damn easily.

dawson is a grown man and got the fight he wanted.

Of course not, he makes 147 without any effort, he'd need some effort to make 140. When he's 10 times the draw his opponent is, why should he even bother? Especially since he's proven effective at the higher weight, and doesn't have to be carefully matched against the bigger guys (eg Cotto at 154)

Well that explains the difference in our opinions. I believe he can make 140 with just as much ease (easier) than 147, you don't. :thumbsup

ward doesn't need chad...chad needs ward. chad's the one who called out ward, not the other way around. why would ward, who is in the driver's seat, agree to dawson's terms? u guys got it twisted.

At the scene Dawson those an interview where he says he feels he has all advantages over Ward.

Now there is another article saying that he expects no weight issues:

    so what is the issue?
