Honestly there are not many Ward haters here, there were back in the early going of the super six but time and time again he has proven his worth.

People still have a right to voice their thoughts on this weight issue, yes Chad called him out, Chad agreed to it sure so there are no excuses but should a fighter like ward get allot of credit for this win? I dont think so its a W looks good but lets not pretend like he fought a healthy dawson

 So the guy himself saids his more natural weight is at 168. He saids he has no trouble making the weight, said's hes perfectly fine with it. And he calls out Ward and agrees to the weight and you are saying he won't be healthy?

So your perceptions and assumptions of this situation is superior over Dawson's own words?

    Gotcha.

I will say this how many times has a fighter agreed to a catch weight and we assumed all was good until the fight went down, no difference here, it will be obvious...
so why expect credit for the W when you have a man who couldnt eat regardless what he says about his weight every fighter says that **** until they get beat

Well, we kind of know going into a fight if it's healthy or not. DLH going in vs Pac was questionable. Had Martinez had to go down to 150 against Floyd, that would've been a joke.

Would Ward get more credit if he fought Dawson at 175? Of course. But it is what it is.

Dawson made the decision to challenge for another man's belts. He is fighting for those belts at the full, legal weight limit.

How anybody could have an issue with that is beyond me.

Dawson challenged Ward for Ward's belts and is fighting him at the full legal limit.

Pac challenged Cotto for Cotto's belts and did not fight at the full legal limit.

    See the difference there?

If Dawson says he can make the weight we need to leave it at that. Hes a grown man.

Chad is the man to beat if Ward wants to advance his career.

So he tries to get the fight under circumstances that benefits him.

Thats what this is about, not belts.

I respect that Ward looks after his interests. He has a family to care for and all that. But dont deny the obvious.

People complain all the time about Mayweather/Pacquiao/Alvarez/Hopkins/Donaire getting advantages on the principle of size and weight limits. Theoretically, Ward shouldn't be treated by those people any differently. I don't think there is any doubt that if Ward beat Dawson at 175 it would be sizably better than beating him at 168.

Don't get me wrong. If I'm Andre and a bigger champion tells me he wants to come down to 168 and take my belts I'm not going out of my way to make life easier for him. He asked for 168, he gets 168. That's common sense.

Conversely, if Andre called out Dawson and challenged him for the 175 belts, I would fully expect him to fight at the full 175 limit. Any request for a catchweight and I would be the first to criticize Andre.
