Roy Jones was a great fighter as well as Toney... Eubank, Benn, and Calzaghe were all great fighters, and all made statements that they thought Roy was great and also made questionable statements to being able to beat him... Benn even said he didn't mind being second to Jones...

Toney being ineffective against Jones was not a known fact until after Jones fought him, at the time, that was Roy Jones' real test.. He was the underdog, most people wondered if his style would hold up against the best... No one, figured Toney was tailor made for him, until after Roy outclassed him. That has to count for something as well.

No one thinks Ruiz is an awesome Hw... but he was decent,ugly ass style, but he has won a belt multiple times.. Jones wanted Holyfield until he lost to Ruiz.. Regardless, being able to beat a HW belt holder, being a former JMW, is impressive no matter who looks at it.... If it wasn't impressive, more fighters would do it, it would be more common... Just as Roy dropped down from HW to win the LHW title in his very next fight, again, If that wasn't impressive, more would have done it..:yep

Believe it or not had Roy Jones Jr and Nigel "Dark Destroyer" Benn had fought each other in what was a much anticipated unification battle, IBF/WBC, in mid 1995 following Jones' late '94 win over Toney and Benn's spring '95 knockout win over Gerald McCullen, albeit his near fatal knockout over the now recluse and legally blind McCullen, the winner of Jones-Benn would altered a little history at 168 by becoming the Ring Magazines first champion at that weight class.

And Dariusz, from what I rememeber, was branded basically as the one guy that only the hard core fight fan during the late 90's thought that Roy should've fought during his reign at 175 following his subsequent and unification victories over Mike McCallum, Montell Griffin(rematch), Virgil Hill, Lou DeValle and Reggie Johnson. Mind you Dariusz was only looked upon as an elite opponent because he just happened to be unbeaten at the time in 41 pro fights against opposition mainly in his home country and he just happened to be ranked #1 by the WBC and #2 by all other magazine scribes behind Roy. Somehow they just couldn't put that one together.

I can tell you something about medical professionals, they arent all wow and wonder. Some of the biggest burkes I know get on the course, and pass exams, and go onto treat patients. Hospital porters are often in their job to go on to become physios, nurses and medics, and they often better men and women than some of the medics I know. I'd be careful how you expose your lack of knowledge on the healthcare professions.

The biggest thing neglected on all of this, RJJ was jumping weights while cheating on steroids, as was Toney.

Toney lost to some garbage ffighters, his resume is puffed up with shot fighters, with a few very good wins in. Much like Rjj.

Rjj was an opportunist, he knew the styles that would cause him trouble, Benn also said he would go to war with Rjj, and Rjj was marketed unbelievably well, people bought into the hype. Rjj knew Benn wouldn't stop throwing hook after hook even if he was being tagged, we saw that with McClennan. Rjj couldn't take that onslaught, and someone with very good handspeed too, that upset Rjj's timing and reflexes, his 2 biggest assets.(hence why Toney and Hopkins were perfect for him)

I haven't discounted him as a fighter at all, just that he was and still is vastly over-rated, and had the ability to be dismantled as quickly as Loodon was on here.:yep
