I think he meant in his post that there was no doubt in his mind that pacquiao DID NOT belong in the discussion aka Leonard was more skilled... but he thought it was a tough call between fmj & Leonard.

    I can dig this qoute.

What many people don't realize is fighters such as SRL and (though you may not agree) Mayweather would most likely never encounter the strategic issues that Pac has through his career. Prime example would be his first bout vs Marquez....PAC just doesent have the ability to counter act proper adjustments made by the opposition. Would SRL or Mayweather lose to a guy who they dropped and hurt three times in the fist round? Would they continue to struggle vs them for 3 more bouts while constantly falling for the same feits and counter punches.

SRL had way more ability than either Pac or Floyd, of course he did. End of discussion, surely.

I don't believe its that cut and dry....the defense differences have been pointed out but I'd like to add SRL's combonation punching ability and Mayweathers lack of consistancy in this department.

Pac & Floyd are this generation's equivalent of Chavez & Holyfield or something like that, two standout fighters of the era (00s as opposed to late 80s) who will be forever remembered as ATGs.

But SRL is a level even above that, on the same plateau as Robinson, Duran, Pep etc, who are history's elite, and above mere generation standouts.

To anyone with at least one fully functioning brain cell, of course it's cut and dried.

Bill's just about covered it here.I can't believe some people are praising the post about modern day fighters being much more advanced and Pacquaio having better offense than Ray.:rofl:rofl(What a ****ing joke!)When did Manny fight well off the back foot?
Ray is the most complete fighter of the modern era and just because you weren't around to see it doesn't mean it isn't so.Floyd is the only fighter who comes close to having an all round package but he'll never be tested against the level of opponent Ray faced and the adversity those opponents brought.
I like Manny but comparing him to Ray is like comparing Donaire to Duran.
It's not about disparaging Floyd or Manny. It's just a cold hard fact.Little boys and girls don't seem able to accept that they weren't around for the true golden era.
