    foreman..

people forget what a destruction machine george foreman was prior to the rumble.

look what he did to norton and frazier.

people say ooh he was wild and sluggish.. and act like it is easy to outbox him.
but he was also good at cutting of the ring he was one nasty guy and allthough bowe is h2h one of the best when he was in his short prime i do not think he is gonna last 15 rounds with a prime foreman

Now that statement goes for Bowe X 10

and the ducking he did seems to underpin the fact - Did you ever see Foreman or anyone of that era throw belts in the garbage to fight a nobody instead of a challenge?

Agreed, not convinced either handle movement that well and I'm not sure Foreman handles a bigger technical puncher that well.

I'm not a Bowe fan and don't condone his avoidance of Lewis

Lewis at his best knocks both of them out for me

    Foremans offense was his defence.

He didnt really need to defend anything as he was pretty much unconcerned with what was being thrown back. This is a guy who walked through several clean Joe Frazier left hooks and still found his man. This is one of the reasons why he was such a monster, nothing could hurt him

Foreman has one of the greatest chins ever and its proven whereas i feel there are question marks surrounding Bowes chin.

What a load of tosh, Lyle nearly knocked him out and Ali did knock him out and no Frazier barely landed anything

Bowe doesn't see the bell for round 6 against 1973 Foreman. It could be a Lyle slugfest only George doesn't get knocked down as much.

Any chance of Foreman outboxing Bowe for the decision?

Bowe was in horrible shape against Hide. He was also in pretty bad shape against Holyfield and was knocked down and hurt far worse. Hide was also a proven puncher, I think he had all knockout wins on his record when he faced Bowe.

If you could name a fight where Bowe was in top shape and was hurt you might have some kind of point, but Bowe took one of the cleanest lefthooks from Bert Cooper and didnt budge. The same Bert Cooper that hurt a lot of world class fighters, including Holyfield who he almost knocked out.

So we disregard the many poor performances of Bowe - OK

We'll ignore the Lyle and Young fights for Foreman then and concentrate on his absolute peak when he destroyed Frazier in their first fight - Bowe could not do that to Frazier - Bowe just to say outpointed Tubbs at his peak.
That Foreman, would KO any Bowe
