Froch will announce his next opponent Monday what bum is next?

I think we've come to terms with the fact that you don't have to be the best in your division to be a world champ. I mean look at guys like Pacquaio,Vitali,Chavez Jnr.They're all champs but not the best at the weight.
You're sentiments are admirable,but it's like putting your trash in the recycling bin.Heart in the right place,but will it really save the world?
It would be nice but I'm too old to hope to see it in my lifetime.:-good

yeah i know full well the chance of one governing body taking control of boxing is about zero, but i'm going to keep things as real as i can in the name of (hopefully) giving a healthy perspective to young fans who come on the site and think that the term 'world champion' means the same in this sport as it does in others

 

I suspect this one will be a stay-busy fight honestly. The three best available options are probably Groves (my guess), Oosthuizen (it would help make sense of why he refused the IBF eliminator) or DeGale. I'd love to see him fight Bika, but I doubt that happens. Not bad opponents by any stretch, but if it was going to be a star, we would have heard about leaked negotiations.

Edit: could be Stevenson too, which might explain his "injury".

if i can instill in people the relevance of 'who they fought and when' when judging fighters, and totally dismissing a fighter's win - loss record and titles, then that will lead to healthier debate

 

If you nitpick Frochs next fighter, whoever it is then surely you will have to nitpick EVERY boxer including all your faves?

 

I don't think it'll be Groves, the two are on pretty friendly terms and regularly spar together.

Back when Groves fought DeGale, DeGale made a big deal about Groves taking a bit of a hiding from Froch in sparring - something Groves wasn't shy about.

Groves replied along the lines of ''that's what happens when novices spar with world level fighters, rather than getting people in for you to look good against''.

DeGale was later offered VERY good money by all accounts to spar with Froch ahead of the Ward fight. Wouldn't do it. I'm not saying he'd reject a fight with him, but I couldn't see it right now, in all honesty.

I've got absolutely no idea as to who it'll be.
