    Round 8

Molina catches Frias with the 1-2, then ducks to his right under Frias' southpaw jab. Body shots by Molina. Another flush 1-2 by Molina as Frias backs up with his hands low, perhaps thinking about laying a trap for Molina put too slow to set and spring it before Molina's there. Body shots by Molina, sustained attack as Frias paws at him and tries to push down on his head when he can.

    10-9 Molina

    80-72 Molina

Carlos is one of my favorites to watch.

He has a ring IQ up there with guys like Ward and Hopkins, he just lacks the overall tools and athleticism. (I know many will disagree with that assessment, but I feel strongly about that).

Frias pushing the jab. Molina landing left hooks repeatedly. Right to the body left to the head of Frias. Nice right uppercut on Molina coming in. Lead right from MOlina. Another lead right. rights to the body of Frias. Jab right from Molina. Nice left hook from MOlina while Frias is on the ropes.

    79 - 73 Molina

Chavez doesn't have the power, hand speed, nor skill of Canelo.

Cintron, really? :think Maybe a bit, but nowhere near the level as against Kirkland. That was a career worst, by miles.

Molina's record looks very journeyman like he's 19-5-2 when with a bit of good luck rather than the bad look he's had he could be 25-1 with 2 victory over Chavez Jr, Erislandy Lara, Kermit Cintron and James Kirkland.

Am I thinking of another bout? Lara is difficult to look against, maybe that one?

    Round 9

Molina is hitting the body with pendulums from either side, letting his head droop offline as he comes. Frias isn't even trying to counter, however. Molina is smothering Frias into the ropes and paddling the body consistently. Frias clinches as Molina goes for a few head shots. Weak shoe shine downstairs by Frias. Molina backs him up with a right and then chops with a 1-2 to put him on the ropes again. Arm punches from Molina now, but still firmly in control.

    90-81 Molina
