One (major) thing that Pacquiao undoubtedly has over Mayweather in an ATG discussion

    Pacquiao fought better comp.

If you made a top 5 of the best opponents faced by either, I'd be looking at:

    1.Barrera (version faced by

    2.Marquez (version faced by

    3.Morales (version faced by

    in 1st & 2nd fights, '05 & '06)
    4.Castillo (version twice faced by

    5.Cotto (version faced by

    in '09)

IMO, Cotto is a better all-round fighter than Corrales was, and the Cotto of '09 at ww was younger, fresher and so logically better than the (post-Pacquiao beating) Cotto of '12 at lmw.

That makes it 4-1 Pac, and shows who faced the tougher guys in his career.

    ---

Most importantly of all, Pac has two wins over prime/near-prime HOF-class fighters in Barrera (03) and Marquez '08. Floyd has no wins to compare to these.

Another factor is that health preservation is non existent in Pac.

Floyd can't help he was in higher weightclasses.

That said those loses hurt Manny and those JMM "victories" also hurt.

Floyd could've fought Tszyu, Pacquiao, Cotto (earlier), Mosley (earlier), Margarito, and Williams. He chose not to. His legacy suffers greatly for it.

    Pac is greater than Floyd.....

Floyd couldn't agreed more as he was jumping for joy in the Pac vs Morales fight.

Koysta didn't want Floyd. Floyd chased after him, I rmember him calling him out repeatedly.

    Manny killed their fights.

Cotto was supposed to fight Floyd at 140, the Brusalles fight was the warm up to getting it started, but Team Cotto didn't like the ass whooping and backed out of the fight. Eventually Floyd took care of him at 154.

Floyd Chased Mosley earlier and Mosley is the one that stepped aside for Oscar with his tooth ache.

Margo was not fought so he could fight at 154 against Oscar.

I wish the Williams fight would have happended but the loss to Quintana ****ed that up.

There's always an excuse why floyd did not fight with this or that fighter. What matters in the end is what was on his resume. His atg status will be judged based on his resume.

It's getting close, with Floyd's quality of competition lately, but Pac's win over Barrera tops his best-win-list nicely.

Cloud it be that health came first or they weren't fighting to see who the best was.

The only one up there Floyd takes the blame for is the Williams fight.

Can't believe people are still sore about him not fighting a bricked up Margarito. By the way, have you noticed how many of those fighters were Arum fighters?

Details are always the one thing that ****s up a good ignorant blanket statement.
