I agree with this for all weight divisions. Middle is 160, super middle is 168, etc...

Plus, when a smaller fighter steps up and wins a belt from the bigger guy, at the full limit, it makes it so much better, IMO.

Nothing but speculation. Like I said, I look at how they fight, how their body reacts. You just look at the scale, the promoter, and make assumptions to your benefit.

the smaller fighter or someone going up in weight has not fared well.

I agree it is speculation, should have wrote in my opinion. I said Cotto may not have been drained, but he surely had to focus on weight more in training than he would have to if he was allowed to weigh in at the full WW limit.. Do you agree?

You're again ignoring that Cotto himself, as soon as he became a free agent, said he will not sacrifice his body for Pacquiao again. Why do you believe he made this statement at that particular time? I'm taking what the man said, and putting 1+1 together... I believe everything I've said is a reasonable assumption, if you don't agree will you explain why?

    i dont like catchweights

i would accept them if a guy jumps a lot to meet a challenger

like a light heavy moving to cruiser but not big enough or a cruiser moving down to light heavy but not ready to get al lthe way down

or like if Broner a 130 wanted to move up to fight a welter but since hs is jumping so many asked for a catch of like 144 or 145 thats fair i guess

    i dont really care

i think its ok in extreme cases

but like if a welter asks another welter to meet at a catch then thats weird

i guess its the guy who signs the papers fault and the fans can judge as they will

ultimately in todays ppv big draw boxing some guys hold all the gun powder and some guys will agree to anything to get a big ppv fight

What two men agree to in terms of weight for a fight is their own business, but it's my own and other fans' opinion as to whether that diminishes a win/loss after the fact.

Cotto is a fugging warrior and he will not openly say that he was "weight drained" or was not "felling good" that is the way that the man is. A Warrior.

If you take into context and read between the lines on his "Ill not drain my self again" comment, you'll see that he DID feel that the catch weight hurt him in a way that he was NOT at his best.

but he wants to drain himself when he asked a catchweight of 150 against margarito when he defended his title? isn't it ironic?

    No Catch-weights. Very Simple.

There are already more divisions today than in the past so catch-weights just make things ridiculous.
Maybe we can make more divisions. Each pound can be a division.

And leave a scale on every street-corner so that people can get weigh-ins before they get into a fight. Don't make weight; no fight.

    HW division is KING.

making IB as mod is worse than CW discussions in here. he is obviously biased against Pac fans, he cant help hiding it. having obvious bias against one group should be a factor not to make anyone a mod.
