If your right then Foreman`s in alot of trouble because Bowe was light years better than Lyle. Bowe was 235-40 in shape so Foreman`s going to be conceding 20lbs on the inside as well.

I dont think this is a good matchcup at all for Foreman.

It isnt as if Bowe cant punch. Foreman may hit harder shot for shot but Riddick put his together better. Also Big George best power was down low in thos uppercuts and Bowe was not a guy that is going to crouch into them.

Its going to be more of a battle of jabs, hooks and straight shots.

yes but both of those guys were crouching fighters and neither anywhere near as big as Riddick Bowe.

Id never count George Foreman out because his fists were like wrecking balls. Bowe`s just a little sharper.

Agreed. Even if Bowe took a more tactical approach, he'd be drawn in sooner or later, and I think sooner myself.

But I still think it's 50/50, maybe I'd give a slight edge to Foreman.

    But then again...

...I might tend to agree with this, and give a slight edge to Bowe.

This would have been great one way or another, that's for sure.

bowe is taller by an inch and a half, foreman's reach is longer by an inch.
foreman was rock solid 220 at his best, bowe is 235 but not that naturally strong as foreman, even though he was heavier 15 lbs, stronger man here is foreman, and a bigger puncher.
their chins are abouth equal, bowe has better technique, but this would be a brawl, probably an atg one.
bowe has great inside game, but imo foreman's power would prevail, cause i think he can take bowe's punches better than bowe foreman's punches, both men would be pounding on each other,i'm leaning toward foreman, cause of foreman's atg power.
    great slugfest

No the point was Bowe could be hurt, but he never lost even when he was badly hurt. Not once was Bowe knocked out and stopped and he was facing a great finisher in Holyfield in that third fight.
Foreman on the other hand didnt have the recouperative power that Bowe had and Bowe was in poor form. In prime form like the thread title points out in his topic, Bowe was never hurt and never showed any kind of problems taking flush punches from big punchers, as I pointed out in my previous post. Your hate for Bowe goes along perfectly with your ignorane about boxing. :good

We can rave all day about how Bowe 'had' the skills to outbox Foreman, but if were talking prime for prime, then Bowe is going to be brawling for 75% of the fight. I don't care what anyone says, because the reality of it is brawling with a prime George Foreman is a knockout waiting to happen whether it be the 1st or 12th round even if you have the greatest chin in the game.

I think the first few rounds would go to Bowe, who definitkey has the potential to beat Foreman, however the prime Bowe that we know would have began to echange punches by about 4 and would get stopped between rounds 7-10. I don't think that low left hand of Bowe's does him any favours either

Someone as willing to take punches as Bowe was, does not survive against Big George.

I think Foreman will walk him down and brutalise him.

Definitely an atg staredown. Yeah Bowe would
probably be lured into a brawl, but Eddie Futch
could drill a gameplan into Bowe's head. So after
4 or 5 rounds Bowe is ahead and a brawl ensues.
Foreman isnt going to be able to use his patented
push and punch or manhandling tactics against
Bowe, and a tired Foreman is gonna be eating
uppercut hook combos in the clinch. Bowe will
eat an uppercut/hook from Foreman but will
survive. I could agree with a decision, but
Bowe never faced a supeheavy with
    foreman's power, and Foreman never
faced a superheavy with Bowes technique,
chin, power, and inside game. A brutal
brawl ensues in the 5th, both men get
rocked, Bowe stuns Foreman with an
uppercut and finishes him with an
overhand right. Bowe KO 8, and takes
A 6 month layoff afterwards haha!

Funny a prime Bowe couldnt do that to Tubbs or Golota but he'd do it to Foreman

Bowe would beat Haye - But Bowes prime was so tiny I would say that if they fought once a year every year for 10 years I woud see them winning 5 each

Hide's arguably a more proven puncher than Lyle, who wasn't really a massive puncher. Bowe was out of shape and pretty much ate everything Hide threw to just walk through it until he landed his own punches, it's actually a very good display of an elite chin

Someone as willing to take punches as Foreman was, does not survive against Big Daddy Bowe.
