Holmes is taller with a longer reach and heavier... it's not a huge size advantage but he'd be the bigger man none the less.

Louis was the better puncher but Holmes had the better chin.

Both had quick hands, Louis may have been a little quicker with the short punches but Holmes had quicker feet and better footwork. Holmes also had the better jab.

    Should be a great fight.

Holmes H2H is a nightmare for a lot of the ATG heavies. I wouldnt be surprised to see him just outbox Louis over 15.

Can Louis land the BRH though? Others landed it on Holmes and it shook him to his core.

    I favour Holmes, 60-40

The straight right hand would be the key to victory for Louis. I'm taking Holmes though.

Agree with this. Prime Holmes was a bit of animal to be honest. Louis has always got a shot though with that viciously accurate, fluid and extremely hard punching of his. But Holmes could really take a punch so I see, like you do, a Holmes UD with a few wobbly moments on the way, possibly a knockdown or two.

Louis had great hand speed, and tremendous power, which he could put together in combos. Louis had a monster jab, Holmes had excellent jab, but he really leaned into it at time, leaving him open for right hands. Louis thew his with seemingly little effort, and it landed harder. Both were very determined and tough, but I gotta go with louis, big time too.

Louis by decision... but in reality this fight could have any outcome because its 2 of the best technicians in HW history. Louis has the quicker hands & those hands hit harder too, both of them, he might have the edge here as they are similar in size, Holmes having an ever so slight edge in that department but not enough for it to be a factor.

Louis would counter-punch that jab of Larry with some right hands in the late rounds I believe.....

    Is he though?

I sometimes think that a lot of guys who other ATG heavyweights would have demolished, wer nightmares for Holmes!

Who is the best guy he beat, and who is the best he dominated?

I'm amazed people have the opinion that Louis had quicker hands. Astonishing.

As time has progressed Louis' handspeed is probably his most underrated aspect.
