    looks like this is gonna be Frochs next opponent

    boxrec #61 at light heavyweight whos record is pretty garbage like but was offered a shot at the IBF 168 title. We knew Froch was gonna take a break on caliber of opponent , but a lower ranked super middle would have been nice than a guy who has no business fighting for a title

    This guy is Pascal's brother, right?

    Seems a strange pick. The fact he's Canadian leads me to believe that Bute's promoter had a say in who the opponent was.

    other than never beating a top 10 fighter in his life, losing to the only top 10 fighter he fought...half his wins are against guys with losing records, and his best win is against a 12-0 fighter by split dec. how does the IBF sanction this?

    pick a soft touch that qualifies to fight for a belt. otherwise the belt means **** when the opponent has never beaten a top 100 guy in the world....

    Poulard isn't as bad as he looks on paper. He is also a much bigger puncher than he would appear on paper.

    Sjomkin wasn't exactly a high level victim, but Poulard did look alright.

    Not anywhere near "alright" enough to be a legitimate test for Froch, granted, but there have been much worse people granted title shots.

    youre a take the test kinda guy...extra testing, clean up boxing ect ect

    but now lets overlook title fights where rules are broken and unqualified guys leap frog past others. no problem with Froch getting a "soft touch", but lets not call this a title fight, thats the bull**** everyone overlooks.

    yes, Froch has fought everyone known to man, I get it. but this guy isnt ranked at 168 at all and ranked #61 in the next division.

    What I don't get is how he's in consideration to drop down to SMW and vie for Froch's super middleweight IBF belt...when Poulard is a part of the WBA ranking machine (#6 @ 175 lbs) and has been a full-time light heavyweight for years now.

    So the rumors of him getting a crack at Shumenov next (rather than Froch) make a bit more sense.

    How would they justify him being ranked in a division he hasn't touched in three years, by an organization he's never had any business with? (with the WBA, his top ten ranking can be explained by him holding the NABA title, which is the WBA's own personal in-house version of a "North American championship)

    It's pretty simple if you don't like it, just don't recognize Froch's title.

    Easy enough to brush trinkets to the side anyhow these days. Blame Bute for extending his clause until March.
