Thats because you have only been into boxing for a few months likely & only know todays fighters & haven`t took time to watch full fights of past greats, Duran had a record of 71-1 going into the first Leonard fight, he could have retired right there & been a top 15 ATG fighter... he fought on past his prime, losing vs bigger fighters that just happened to be ATGs as well, he also managed to win a 154 & 160 lb title while miles past his best.

If you truly knew about Duran`s history or just how dominant & good he was at his best you`d feel ashamed about the pish you have just typed... Hagler, Hearns, Leonard & even Benitez were all genuine ATG fighters but guess what ?... they rarely if at all make a top 10 ATG p4p list (Leonard makes a few to be fair but misses out on the majority)

Duran makes just about every top 10 list as well as being ranked as the greatest ever 135 lber... why is that ?... use your head, they put him there because his overall career was greater than theirs & he was one of the best ever at his best in his 20s.... he was voted the fighter of the decade in the 70s ahead of Carlos Monzon & Muhammad Ali... floyd wouldn`t even fight the guy who was voted fighter of the decade in his OWN ERA... there is no comparison here, think about it.

I'm willing to bet 90% of the General Forum have never seen a full Duran lightweight bout.

Its the 24/7 generation of boxing fans, guys who discovered boxing after watching Floyd on that show, they just repeat what others who dont know **** say and run with it as if they are talking facts.they dont have a clue who Ken Buchanan was,or Esteban Dejesus or Ernesto Marcel they are too busy following Boner's twitter and being mesmerized by his taking a dump pics he posts there and his Mayweather dickriding which they relate to, and all that gay **** that goes on social media today.

skills can only be proven in regards to your opponents. duran's level of competition is miles ahead of floyd that his is proven and floyd mostly stands on fantasy level. to date, floyd's biggest win is corrales while duran's biggest win is SRL.

All you've ranted about is how Duran is "overrated". I've yet to hear how Floyd is more skilled. Having a better defensive guard and looking prettier on your feet does not translate into more skills, versatility, & completeness as a fighter. Duran losing past his prime and past his best weight against ATG's adds nothing to the conversation about the comparison of skill between the two.

Again, Duran bringing Hagler to a close points decision at that age and weight took a display of more sheer craft than most, if not all, of Floyd's wins. Forget about who likes Duran or doesn't; he beat the better fighters with less physical advantages (often with disadvantages Floyd has never, and will likely never, face).

Yeah then the man quit like a girl while not even hurt.... Can you imagine,Floyd,Manny doing that today! Look at the **** Cotto got for taking a knee against a cheater,Ortiz quitting against Maidana, of some say justifiably so against Lopez, but they were at least gassed out and/or hurt....

These forums would be full flooded with the same topic,if either one quit in the fashion Duran did... Duran folded under pressure because Sugar was twirling his hands around and poking him.. You exaggerate his greatness due to your disdain for Floyd...You say he beat Sugar, but leave out the fact he quit...

People didn't pay money to see an All Time Great decide he does not want to fight in the 7th round with the WBC Super Middle Weight title on the line.. Credit to Floyd and Pac you'll never see them quit while not even hurt..
