Wow, this Phil Doherty is talking straight out of his ass. What a ****ing fluff piece. Talk about shining a turd.

Here's a more reliable account of what went down, although it was from viewing on a 50" HDTV rather than at ringside:

"always game Bronx Battler"? :rofl:rofl Dude wasn't **** four years ago when he was last relevant, and he's shot to bits now.

This was actually a sorely disappointing outing for Prescott, even if his goal was to log a bunch of minutes and "work on a few things". Yeah, he boxed nicely enough but Figueroa should have been putty in his hands and dispatched at will...yet Prescott labored to secure the finish down the stretch and actually ran at the end because he'd spent so much energy trying and failing to do just that.

    This part cracks me up:

"Proving it’s not the size of the dog (or rather cat) in the fight, Figueroa came on in the third and dropped Prescott with an overhand right in the fifth."

    :rofl:rofl:rofl :patsch

Most bogus official knockdown ruling I have EVER seen in boxing. Prescott was already falling from throwing himself off balance and Figueroa bopped him on the forehead while his legs were already slipping out from under him. Utter bull**** that Gato was credited with a KD there. It wasn't even a flash knockdown, it wasn't a knockdown period.

No, you don't. It wasn't even remotely competitive, even late, don't believe a word of this hack article.

Figueroa was coming forward and Prescott did box on the outside and ultimately toward the end resort to outright running, but I think it was more that he'd blown his wad early and for some reason was concerned with Figueroa being able to catch him with something (although Gato showed no power, and that knockdown was farcical)

Did he now? :yep It must be nice to feel confident in having read a Fightnews article and a Boxrec page and consider yourself adequately suited to opine, but for some of us it helps to actually watch the fight. :good

This is a good time for Khan to avenge his losses...

Fight Prescott in december - beat him
Fight Peterson early 2013 - beat him
Fight Garcia mid 2013 - beat him

Become the worthy unified 140 champ

and maybe if he is lucky get the final belt off Marquez at the end of 2013.

That would be quite the achievement.

Several Prescott fights have disappointed. :blood You must have missed them.

Prescott vs. Cuello - pretty much by acclamation considered the worst FNF main event of the decade. Horrible fight.

Prescott vs. Jargal - ho-hum. The most interesting thing about it was the insane chin that Jargal showed. Prescott was more entertaining here than against Cuello (having a more willing opponent) but it still wasn't a pulse-pounder.

Prescott vs. McCloskey - other than the scoring controversy, not very memorable.

Prescott vs. Figueroa - looked like an early brutal KO in the makings, then Prescott danced around and pot shotted running on fumes as the feather fisted and shot-to-**** Gato leaped around him missing wild shots.

He was at his most exciting in his 135lb days, although he was also cruder.

I would love to see Prescott vs Khan II, If Khan does beat Prescott, it will be a boost of confidence for him also.

Think thats the route back for Khan, but if he loses to any of them he should retire. As The Cobra said, he shouldn't be there to make up the numbers and if he uses his boxing ability rather than getting giddy he could shut out all 3.

Remember him calling out Cotto? :rofl Spreading around tales that he'd beaten his ass so bad in sparring that they had to dismiss him to spare Miguel any more embarrassment?

In reality he was probably just not offering the level of work they were after, because he sucks.
