Which of these two fighters has more wins agains world class opponents within the first three rounds?

Prety clear cut in favour of Dempsey isn't it?

As Janitor pointed out, and it should go without having to say, but since you don't know, Dempsey has a hell of a lot of early round stopgages, particularly first round stoppages.

It's commonly known that Dempsey was an ultra-fast starter.

It's also commonly known that Frazier is a notoriously slow starter, and if he was going to get hurt or knocked down, it was probably going to be early. It took several rounds before he started "smokin".

It isn't unreasonable to pick Dempsey hurting or flattening Frazier, and based on the fact he was a fast starter and Frazier was a slow starter, you can't say with certainty that it isn't a possibility.

I just think Frazier fought bigger, better guys. It's insulting to Dempsey to act like its preposterous that he has a chance. Frazier wins, but he's still gonna have to work for it.

Frazier has no chance. Dempsey was the complete package rated as the best ever for decades. Frazier is a one demensional fighter never rated by anyone as the best ever. In every category its all Dempsey. Name one trainer who saw Dempsey and Frazier fight live that picks Frazier.

I think they would, a very good fighter like Fulton definitely would....

Urtain, Jose Luis Garcia, Jack Bodell, Jose Roman, Chuck Wepner...all these guys were top 10 during the golden Frazier“s era....

Actually its just the opposite. Joe Frazier could step back and box a little if he wasnt giving up a great deal of height. If you watch the films of his fights with Quarry 2 and even Ron Stander, Joe changed up his style and showed he could box.

Not sure if Dempsey was capable of that.

I believe Frazier would stop Dempsey perhaps mid to late rounds to much heat for Demsey in this one.

Are you sure they could fit in there together, let alone have a fight?

Dempsey wouldn't get in the ring with Frazier. He was black and good.
